February 8, 2018, 18:40 local time, was the date I have created this account. Back then the place was called Steemit and it was a damn crowded one. The 2017-2018 bull market volcano was already blown off and little did I know that a two year bear market will follow, from which I'll get out alive and stronger that I've imagined. I got the moon on scope, but too little understanding on how the market cycles work back then though...
The feeling that I got when started using Steemit was like waking up to a busy train station with so much people running around, delusive post payouts, bots boosting creators works in exchange of STEEM payments acting quite similar to prostitutes, and no one that I personally knew to guide me. I found about the project from a friend that hasn't even joined in and thought I should try it.
I was planning on posting on tech topics, mostly oriented towards the smartphone world and ended up having a piece from everything after these three years. The first year spent on the chain was a quite frustrating one, as I used to spend about eight hours a day writing about 4 posts every 24 hours, trying to make myself a name around there, but little to none rewards for all that hustle and quite a lot of disappointment.
I was missing on something and that was engagement. I've walked the lone wolf path for quite a while before I started learning that above all potential gains that my blogger account could offer, this was first and foremost a community and once you work your way inside of it and start making friends it's when all the hustle becomes enjoyable from any perspective a blockchain based social media platform has to offer.
I have never blogged before, although I had the urge towards using the internet for better personal finances, not knowing exactly how, and doing that based on my passion for pouring words on a page seemed ideal. It's three years since I joined this platform and don't even know how they've flied by... I sure know that I started hating bots once finding about them and what they're effects on the rewards pool were and I sure was disappointed as hell when Just Sun was announced.
At that point I was close to quit, because I didn't see any way out of that situation and would not pursue my blogging activity under Sun's jurisdiction in any way. Luckily though we've got Hive now, the saving fork, which is way better than Steem was, but not perfect, and above all that, I am so excited and grateful for Leofinance. Leofinance is a game changer for me and it has completely changed my trajectory on this chain.
It's one of the best communities that I've been part of so far, it has a ton of potential that's being worked on as we speak and it's really addictive. I am mostly active on the blockchain through the Leofinance interface and you can see that on my every day posts and comments. This community really gives purpose to my time spent online and I mean that.
I have never had a plan with my Hive account though. I have just showed up every day, posted about whatever I had on my mind or felt like relevant for my followers and continued doing so for three years. With the exception of about two weeks back in the summer of 2019 when I haven't posted anything I have every day put out content on this chain. Ranging from one to three, maximum four posts a day.
I haven't managed to have any real life friends joining in so far... Who knows, maybe one day, when the sun will shine and the sky will turn pink I'll manage to do that too. Over the years I've made myself quite a nice community in here. Some have come and go while others have become my online friends for a couple of years or so.
I'm sometimes asking myself: for how long will I do this? The answer is: I really have no clue, but seeing the trajectory towards Leofinance is heading to and how the crypto sphere is penetrating our daily lives, I have the feeling and desire to stick with this for as long as possible.
Anyway, I don't want you to get bored with my three years celebration nonsense, but I sure wanna say I love being part of this community, I'm highly excited and hyped about the future of this blockchain, and especially Leofinance, and sending all of you that follow me, read my posts, curate my content and engage with me, a huge THANK YOU. I'm grateful for everything and open for ridding the crypto waves towards new horizons with you guys.
Have a great day people, enjoy your Hive experience and...
THANKS FOR ATTENTION,
ADRIAN
Man... three years... That's something.
