El terror como género cinematográfico, posiblemente sea imposible el realizar un film y no convertirlo en una franquicia; creo que es el cliché imposible de no replicar en este tipo de films y es que en mi opinión hay muy pocos directores y guionistas, que crean icónicos personajes y que solamente piensan en un comienzo, desarrollo y final, sin nada más que relatar o expandir, justamente en ese pequeño grupo de directores no está Ti West que desde el estreno de "X" y "Pearl" en 2022, estaba preparado para relatar una historia que hace homenaje a películas de épocas entre los 50' y 80'.

"MaXXXine", tercero y (parece ser) último film de esta franquicia de terror dirigida, escrita y editada por Ti West; esta secuela directa de "X", veremos a "Maxine Minx", quien a finales de los 70' fue la única sobreviviente de la masacre en un establo de Texas y ahora a mediados de los 80’, sigue en la búsqueda de convertirse en una "Estrella de Cine", pero ahora en la caótica y asechada ciudad de Los Angeles; ese viaje para alcanzar la fama pareciera llegar a la meta cuando Maxine consigue un rol protagónico en un film que no es de las habituales películas en donde ella es la estrella, pero justamente ese logro vendrá con nuevos peligros lo cual le hará sentir miedo y la fuerza para enfrentarlos.

Ti West nuevamente usa esta franquicia para realizar un nuevo homenaje al cine y para demostrar lo buen director que es, ya que este film en cinematografía supera a sus dos anteriores entregas; está película no tiene desperdicio en ninguna de sus tomas, todas son artísticas, coloridas, divertidas, gráficas, detallista, es mejor lo que se logró en "Pearl" y no hay duda que la dirección es de los puntos más altos del film.
La historia es posiblemente el punto intermedio en esta producción, puede hacer creer que es un mal o buen film y en lo personal, creo que es una correcta historia que respeta las reglas para un tercer film de una franquicia, reglas justamente dichas en "SCREAM 3", la cual es parte de una serie de las llamadas "Meta Films" que usan el cine para su influencia. En esta tercera parte, a pesar de existir elementos claves de un slasher, también encontramos elementos de un buen thriller, aunque es cierto de que el misterio en esta historia es muy predecible y pienso que posiblemente es de los puntos bajos de la película; aparte de todo eso, aprecio que el cine siga siendo influencia y más que nada, todo lo referente a ese lado oscuro del mundo del cine que convierte en pesadillas los sueños en quienes anhelan ser estrellas.
Ti West again uses this franchise to make a new tribute to cinema and to demonstrate how good a director he is, since this film in cinematography surpasses his two previous installments; this film has no waste in any of its shots, all are artistic, colorful, funny, graphic, detailed, it is better than what was achieved in "Pearl" and there is no doubt that the direction is one of the highest points of the film.
The story is possibly the middle ground in this production, it can make you believe that it is a bad or good film and personally, I think it is a correct story that respects the rules for a third film of a franchise, rules justly said in "SCREAM 3", which is part of a series of so-called "Meta Films" that use cinema for its influence. In this third part, although there are key elements of a slasher, we also find elements of a good thriller, although it is true that the mystery in this story is very predictable and I think it is possibly one of the low points of the film; apart from all that, I appreciate that cinema continues to be an influence and most of all, everything related to that dark side of the film world that turns dreams into nightmares for those who long to be stars.
Mia Goth es la dueña de la historia, me gustó esta versión de "Maxine" la cual es muy diferente a la vista en "X", ya que en el film que da origen a esta historia vemos a una joven mujer susurrar sus sueños y eso la lleva a estar dentro de un estado catatónico que la hace dependiente de las drogas y de los hombres que quieren manejarla; en esta nueva historia, Maxine es una mujer diferente que nunca ha olvidado sus sueños y que sabe que deberá hacer lo necesario para obtenerlos; Goth sabe muy bien expresar ese sentimiento de deseo, fuerza y a la vez descontrol a causa del miedo de perder todo, pero Maxine es un personaje diferente que no encaja en el de ser víctima, sino en una que está dispuesta en atacar primero.

A pesar de que tanto el primer y segundo films son slashers puros y que tanto el asesino, como sus motivos son evidentes desde los primeros actos del film; creo que está tercer y última parte es más predecible que todas las demás; nuevamente creo que eso es lo que posiblemente sea la causa de que para muchos esté es el film más flojo de la franquicia, yo personalmente aunque piense que ese es el factor más influyente en las críticas negativas, pienso que el problema está en la nula existencia de personajes que compartan protagonismo con Mia, eso no existe, como si ocurrió en "X" y "Pearl" y es que supongo que tanto Goth como West compiten en demostrar quien es más importante en la franquicia y puede ser eso lo que reste relevancia a otros personajes, pero aparte de eso, me gustó mucho esta película, muy bien dirigida y protagonizada, con una excelente fotografía, ambientación y buen uso de la música, muy gráfica, divertida y correcta para la historia; es una lástima que se mantenga la idea de ser el final porque creo que hay más historias sobre el mundo del cine desde el punto de vista de MaXXXine.
Although both the first and second films are pure slashers and both the killer and his motives are evident from the first acts of the film; I think this third and final part is more predictable than all the others; again I think that this is possibly the reason why for many this is the weakest film of the franchise, I personally think that this is the most influential factor in the negative reviews, I think the problem lies in the lack of characters who share the limelight with Mia, that does not exist, as it happened in "X" and "Pearl" and I guess both Goth and West compete to prove who is more important in the franchise and that may be what detracts from the relevance of other characters, but apart from that, I really liked this movie, very well directed and starred, with excellent photography, setting and good use of music, very graphic, funny and right for the story; it's a pity that it keeps the idea of being the end because I think there are more stories about the world of cinema from the point of view of MaXXXine.
