Hay toda clase de pel铆culas de acci贸n y crimen que te mantienen en vela y que ponen a nuestra mente a pensar a trav茅s de las historias contadas en las pel铆culas, hoy tuve la oportunidad de conseguir una llamada Deception (La Decepci贸n) del a帽o 2008 dirigida por Marcel Langenegger y protagonizada por los grandes actores: Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor y Michelle Williams. Est谩 es una historia que me pareci贸 muy original aunque en algunos momentos ten铆a giros que fueron totalmente esperados pero a煤n as铆 fue muy entretenida para ser una de las pocas pel铆culas que he visto del g茅nero criminal y de acci贸n. Para algunas personas no fue la mejor pel铆cula teniendo a actores tan grandes como los anteriormente mencionados pero para m铆 fue una pel铆cula que me atrap贸 y me encant贸 desde el inicio aunque tuve un poco de decepci贸n con el final.
There are all kinds of action and crime movies that keep you on your toes and get our mind thinking through the stories told in the movies, today I had the opportunity to get one called Deception from 2008 directed by Marcel Langenegger and starring the great actors: Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams. This is a story that I found very original although in some moments it had twists that were totally expected but it was still very entertaining for one of the few movies I've seen in the crime and action genre. For some people it wasn't the best movie having such great actors as the above mentioned but for me it was a movie that grabbed me and I loved it from the beginning although I was a little disappointed with the ending.
Est谩 pel铆cula nos cuenta la historia de Jhonatan McQuarry (Ewan McGregor) un hombre joven dedicado a la contadur铆a que acaba de entrar a una nueva empresa y d贸nde pasa largas horas trabajando como contador ya que una de sus grandes pasiones son los n煤meros, en cuanto a su vida personal es alguien bastante solitario y no tiene mucha experiencia en relaciones con mujeres pero un d铆a todo cambia cuando conoce a un hombre muy enigm谩tico y seguro de si mismo llamado Wyatt Bose (Hugh Jackman) quien se acerca a 茅l y comienza a frecuentarse en la empresa, Jonathan se siente aliviado de poder contar con el apoyo de un hombre tan inteligente y con un carisma que lo hace resaltar ante los dem谩s: en algunas ocasiones desear铆a ser como 茅l. Y en un intercambio de tel茅fonos por equivocacion Jhonatan va conociendo m谩s a fondo a Wyatt y el mundo que frecuenta, d贸nde pasa largas noches con distintas mujeres que se dedican a la prostituci贸n.
This film tells the story of Jhonatan McQuarry (Ewan McGregor) a young man dedicated to accounting who has just joined a new company and where he spends long hours working as an accountant because one of his great passions are numbers, As for his personal life is someone quite lonely and does not have much experience in relationships with women but one day everything changes when he meets a very enigmatic and self-confident man named Wyatt Bose (Hugh Jackman) who approaches him and begins to frequent in the company, Jonathan is relieved to have the support of a man so smart and with a charisma that makes him stand out from others: sometimes he wishes he could be like him. And in an exchange of phones by mistake Jhonatan gets to know Wyatt and the world he frequents, where he spends long nights with different women engaged in prostitution.
La primera llamada que recibe Jhonatan desde el tel茅fono de Wyatt es de una mujer que no le indica qui茅n es y que solamente le da una direcci贸n de un hotel para encontrarse, al comienzo le parece extra帽o pero a la vez divertido el poder estar con mujeres y sentirse m谩s importante entre ellas, hasta que se da cuenta de que esa situaci贸n no es algo tan siquiera normal y es ah铆 cuando se reencuentra con una joven llamada "S" (Michelle Williams) a quien vio por primera vez en una estaci贸n del metro y que lo dejo enamorado a primera vista. S de inmediato al encontrarse con el le dice que solo est谩n ah铆 para tener sexo y que una de las reglas de la "lista" es no mencionar sus nombres o datos personales, Jhonatan solo desea poder conocer mejor a S m谩s all谩 de un momento de intimidad y decide pasar la noche con ella conversando.
The first call Jhonatan receives from Wyatt's phone is from a woman who does not tell him who she is and only gives him an address of a hotel to meet, at first it seems strange but at the same time fun to be with women and feel more important among them, until he realizes that this situation is not something even normal and that's when he meets again with a young woman named "S" (Michelle Williams) whom he saw for the first time in a subway station and who left him in love at first sight. S immediately tells him that they are only there to have sex and that one of the rules of the "list" is not to mention their names or personal data, Jhonatan just wants to get to know S better beyond a moment of intimacy and decides to spend the night with her talking.
Las cosas se complican cuando en uno de sus encuentros con "S" termina siendo golpeado brutalmente en la habitaci贸n de el hotel d贸nde se estaban quedando y a la ma帽ana siguiente despierta y se encuentra solo en la habitaci贸n con un golpe en la cabeza lleno de sangre. Todo lo que recuerda es estar con "S" y haber visto sangre en la cama de la habitaci贸n. Desde ese momento se empieza a sentir la tensi贸n de querer saber que fue lo que sucedi贸 realmente y d贸nde se encuentra "S", la polic铆a se involucra en el caso y Jhonatan solo les da la informaci贸n que el sabe y aunque esto no es suficiente para la polic铆a 茅l decide por su propia cuenta buscar las respuestas sobre qui茅n es realmente el hombre tan simpatico que conoci贸 en el trabajo y que ahora esta desaparecido y que del cual no encuentra ninguna informaci贸n por internet, no hay rastros de que exista un hombre llamado Wyatt Bose ni en internet y tampoco en la empresa.
Things get complicated when in one of his encounters with "S" he ends up being brutally beaten in the hotel room where they were staying and the next morning he wakes up and finds himself alone in the room with a blow to the head full of blood. All he remembers is being with "S" and seeing blood on the bed in the room. From that moment on he begins to feel the tension of wanting to know what really happened and where "S" is, the police get involved in the case and Jhonatan only gives them the information he knows and although this is not enough for the police he decides on his own to look for the answers about who is really the nice man he met at work and who is now missing and of whom he finds no information on the internet, there is no trace that there is a man named Wyatt Bose neither on the internet nor in the company.
Esta historia est谩 llena de momentos de suspenso y de acci贸n, realmente nada es lo que parece y eso es lo que la hace a煤n m谩s interesante, desde la falsa identidad de Wyatt Bose hasta la desaparici贸n de "S", donde Wyatt tiene mucho que ver y que muestra quien realmente es a lo largo de la pel铆cula. Est谩 lista que existe de mujeres asociadas al mundo de la prostituci贸n es m谩s que una cuartada que usa Wyatt para hacer de la suyas y conseguir sus oscuros objetivos, consiguiendo tambi茅n la confianza de un hombre t铆mido y reservado como Jonathan para envolverlo en un asunto ilegal donde hay de por medio muchos millones de d贸lares y lo peor de todo es que "S" quien parec铆a ser una joven diferente a las dem谩s mujeres que tuvieron un encuentro con Jhonatan tambi茅n tiene mucho que ver en el juego sucio de Wyatt.
This story is full of suspenseful moments and action, nothing is really what it seems and that is what makes it even more interesting, from the false identity of Wyatt Bose to the disappearance of "S", where Wyatt has a lot to do and shows who he really is throughout the film. This list of women associated with the world of prostitution is more than a cover that Wyatt uses to do his own and achieve his dark goals, also getting the trust of a shy and reserved man like Jonathan to involve him in an illegal affair where there are many millions of dollars involved and worst of all is that "S" who seemed to be a different young woman to the other women who had an encounter with Jhonatan also has a lot to do in Wyatt's foul play.
La historia me pareci贸 bastante original aunque es verdad que los giros de la trama pueden llegar a ser visto muy f谩cilmente antes de que ocurran, pero a煤n as铆 me gust贸 la actuaci贸n de todos los actores en especial de Ewan McGregor y Hugh Jackman qui茅nes muestran dos personajes totalmente distintos pero que a medida que avanza la pel铆cula van cambiando y sacando partes de si mismos que solo la rabia y la frialdad pueden hacerlo. La pel铆cula no es tan larga, tiene un duraci贸n de una hora y cuarenta minutos pero siento que fueron los necesarios para contarnos est谩 historia de crimen y acci贸n donde hay muchos intereses de por medio y que a pesar de mostrar el lado ingenuo de un hombre como Jonathan luego podemos ver que va cambiando porque as铆 lo necesita para poder salir ileso del l铆o en que lo meti贸 el supuesto Wyatt. Todo me gust贸 excepto el final, que fue un final abierto a mi parecer y que no era tan necesario, pienso que pudieron haber hecho otro final m谩s emocionante y que dejara una gran impresi贸n.
The story seemed to me quite original although it is true that the plot twists can be seen very easily before they happen, but I still liked the performance of all the actors especially Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman who show two totally different characters but as the film progresses they change and bring out parts of themselves that only anger and coldness can do. The movie is not so long, it has a duration of one hour and forty minutes but I feel that they were the necessary to tell us this story of crime and action where there are many interests involved and that despite showing the naive side of a man like Jonathan then we can see that he changes because he needs to get out of the mess that the supposed Wyatt got him into. I liked everything except the ending, which was an open ending in my opinion and it was not so necessary, I think they could have made a more exciting ending and left a great impression.
