"Jack The Giant Slayer" - A Somewhat Movie Review

This is kinda weird for me already, reviewing a movie like this. It's not a Korean movie? An adventure movie? Okay, let's just go with it for the sake of seeing something different! Those were my words when a friend talked about the movie and I downloaded to see it with my friends who stopped by at my place that day. It's best to see a short movie for a short visit, right?

Well, it was good I suggested we see this movie as I saw that they enjoyed it for a short movie time but we didn't fail to see some things that was off putting. Still, it was a somewhat good movie.

"Jack The Giant Slayer" is an old movie from 2013 directed by Bryan Singer, the director of X-Men. No, I've not seen that movie yet but heard a lot about it when it was released. This is a movie in the adventure, fantasy and a bit of an action genre.

The movie is about a guy called Jack who reignited the humans and giant race war by opening the gateway between them. He has to fight giants to save his princess who was held hostage and bring the war to a calm. An adventure they didn't expect is what played out for them.

It started with a story that many who told it doesn't think it's real and Jack who loved to listen to the story confirmed it to be true when he is faced with the giants. The little twists in it made the movie more interesting. Some scenes were quite predictable but still got us hooked.

For an old movie, it's a good one and could actually be compared to a few other short movies I've seen which is a good enough reason to suggest it.

I think this is the first movie I've seen with giant characters, not counting animated movies. And I must say I never imagined how giants would look like aside being extra ugly, and the movie portray that perfectly... The Huge, ugly and then their annoying look.

A scene I still can't settle with was where a giant character saw the bean seed that opens the gateway for them on the ground. I mean, as huge as he is, how did he see a tiny seed on the ground? or maybe I'm missing something. But I did scream "Wayo" meaning "foul play" when I saw that lol. There were a few scenes like that but this one was too much.

Well, it does pass for a good movie time regardless and I know anyone who enjoys adventure movies would love this one. It actually reminded me of the adventure movie "The Princess" so maybe if you've seen that one, you'll enjoy this one too.

I'll give it a 7/10rating and that's for the small foul play they did on me but yeah, still highly recommended to adventure movie lovers. Let me know what you think about the movie if you've seen it before.
