Los años pueden pasar muy rápido y muchas veces más de lo que esperábamos, pero como padres nuestros hijos siempre seguirán siendo pequeños en nuestros corazones y siempre estaremos ahí para cuidarlos y protegerlos.

Mi hijo Alexander ya tiene dieciséis años, pero esto nunca dejará de preocuparme más por su bienestar, hace unos tres días empezó a presentar un tipo de alergia que a simple vista no vi con buenos ojos, ya que hay mucho viral en el aire, de hecho empezó a toser levemente, pero su cara ya se veía un poco más rojiza, ya que él es de piel blanca, y no se debía al sol. Aunque no dijimos nada, mi esposa y yo empezamos a preocuparnos por los antecedentes de nuestro hijo, ya que cuando era niño estos periodos eran fuertes, ya que su pecho era como un tambor cuando tosía y la ronquera también era muy fuerte, lo que requirió un tratamiento de antibióticos para su recuperación.

My son Alexander is already sixteen years old, but this will never stop me from worrying more about his well being, about three days ago he began to present a type of allergy that at first hand I did not see with good eyes, since there is much viral in the air, in fact he began to cough slightly, but his face already looked a little more reddish, since he is white skinned, and it was not due to the sun. Although we did not say anything, my wife and I started to worry because of our son's history, since when he was a child these periods were strong, since his chest was like a drum when he coughed and the hoarseness was also very strong, which required a treatment of antibiotics for his recovery.

Lo más preocupante para un padre entre muchas cosas es ver a nuestros hijos con fiebre, porque puede dejar secuelas muy graves en ellos, que pueden cambiar toda su vida en un instante. Y cuando veíamos esto en otros niños siempre tratábamos de bajar la fiebre a toda costa antes de salir de casa a un centro de salud, y hoy después de tanto tiempo esos temores siguen presentes para nuestros hijos, es cierto que las consecuencias pueden no ser tan fuertes como cuando son bebés, pero ese amor de padres nos pone en acción para ayudar a nuestros hijos aunque ya hayan crecido.

The most worrying thing for a parent among many things is to see our children with a fever, because it can leave very serious consequences in them, which can change their whole life in an instant. And when we saw this in other children we always tried to lower the fever at all costs before leaving home to a health center, and today after so much time those fears are still present for our children, it is true that the consequences can not be as strong as when they are babies, but that parental love puts us into action to help our children even if they have already grown up.

En el caso de Alexander, el primer día, es decir, hace tres días, ya tenía fiebre y una ligera tos, pero la cosa empezó poco a poco, presentando lo que yo me temía desde pequeño, una tos alérgica que no le dejaba dormir y robando así la tranquilidad de todos en casa al verle así, Las noches han sido muy largas, sobre todo ayer, porque presentó fiebre alta, robándome el sueño al verlo así, me es imposible dormir tranquilo, me tranquilicé cuando vi que el termómetro marcaba treinta y ocho grados centígrados y al rato ya eran treinta y siete grados y medio, fue un alivio.

Hoy mi hijo sigue en recuperación, la tos ha cedido, pero éstos momentos me han hecho recordar que como padres, no importa que edad tengan nuestros hijos, no dejaremos de sentirnos angustiados por ellos al verlos pasar por estos momentos, y rectifica que siempre estaré allí a su lado para que siempre pueda estar bien.

Today my son is still in recovery, the cough has subsided, but these moments have reminded me that as parents, no matter how old our children are, we will never stop feeling anxious for them as we watch them go through these moments, and rectify that I will always be there by their side so that they can always be well.
