The Long Queue

During COVID-19, there was a large crowd in hospitals, medicine shops, cemeteries, and even heaven had no place. We all know there was a “NO ROOM” sign everywhere, and heaven was no exception.

That was a Sunday morning and the management of heaven was too busy allotting the rooms to the incoming crowd. The chief manager was looking out of his window, watching a large crowd gathered at the gate.

He called his assistant and said, “Look man, we are short of space and left with limited rooms, especially luxury suites. So allot these rooms based on their death stories.”

The manager said, “What do you mean, based on death stories?” Everybody has a death story to tell!

The chief manager said, “Allot these luxury rooms to the ones whose death stories are most interesting. The rest of them go to ordinary rooms depending on their stories.”

The manager called the first man in the queue.

A young, well-built man in his underwear appeared and said, good morning.

The manager asked, “How did you die?”

I was with my girlfriend when suddenly her husband arrived. I was hanging from the balcony when the man pushed me down, and then he threw a refrigerator at me. That killed me.

"Interesting! Wait outside!"

Next!

Next came another young man.

“How did you die?”

“I don’t know. I was with my girlfriend when I heard someone at the door.” My girlfriend said, “Go hide somewhere. I forgot I had called another boyfriend. He’s probably here.“

I could not find any place to hide, so I went and hid in the refrigerator. Suddenly, I heard a loud crashing sound, and when I woke up, I found myself here. I don’t know what happened.

The manager said, “You have an interesting story. Go fill up the form!”

“Next!”

The next man was a fat, middle-aged man who was wearing a costly suit.

The manager asked, “How did you die?”

The man said, “I am a business owner! I married a beautiful young girl last year.“

"Okay!"

“I suspected my wife was having an affair with her boyfriend. I work hard day and night to earn money and my wife was spending that on her boyfriend.“

"Okay!"

“My apartment is on the tenth floor of a 20-story building.”

“But how did you die? Did you jump off your balcony?”

"No, when I was going for a walk this morning, I saw a man entering my house. I came back, entered the house with the extra key and went to the bedroom. My suspicion turned into confirmation when I saw my wife's condition. I started looking for her boyfriend. I wanted to kill him. I searched the whole house but could not find him."

"Interesting, what then?"

"Then I saw the same man was hanging from the railing of our balcony. He was in his underwear. I approached him and tried to release his hand so that he would fall down and die. But this man was too strong, so he wouldn’t leave the railing. He was really tough and strong."

“That’s interesting. What did you do then?”

I brought a hammer and hit his hand. This time, he lost his grip, and he fell down on the ground. I went down, but he was still alive because he had fallen on a pile of thick mattresses kept on the lawn. I went back to my flat, picked up the fridge and threw it at him. The refrigerator fell on him and probably the man died.

“But how did you die?”

“I had a heart attack, probably because the refrigerator was too heavy, and I died.”

The manager said, “Humm, you have an interesting story and deserve a special suit. Go fill out the form!

“Next!”
