The Mystery of My Sister's Face: Why Does My Phone Keep Letting Her In!

The first time this happened, I didn't pay attention to it as I felt it was probably a mistake or a glitch from my device. I soon realized that it was happening more and more often. I decided to take a closer look and see what was going on. After some investigation, I still haven't found out the cause of the issue or weird situation I guess I'll just have to accept that some things are just beyond my comprehension!

I have different security locks activated on my Redmi Note 8 Pro device, and one of them is the face unlock. I was surprised when I saw my sister unlock the phone with her face. As I initially thought my phone was malfunctioning, I gave it to my female coursemate to use her face to unlock it.

Guess what! She wasn't able to unlock my phone with her face. I quickly realized that my phone was not malfunctioning, but rather recognizing my sister's face as the registered user.

But the question is, why was it recognizing my sister's face as the registered user?

I gave the phone to several other students who were in class with me so they could try unlocking the phone too, but all attempts failed.

To make sure all unknown glitches and errors were resolved, I had to reset the face lock and set it up again. I did all that, hoping that my phone would recognize my face as the only registered user.

Having done everything I could think of, I asked my sister to try unlocking the phone again. This time, I thought I had resolved the issues that were making my phone recognize her as the registered user. She collected the phone and attempted to unlock it.

Guess what again!

My brother and sister, her face still unlocked my phone. So, the question is:

Why is my sister's face unlocking my phone when she is not a registered user? For goodness sake, I am the only registered user. I have tried to reset the phone to factory settings, and that has not resolved the issue. I have also unregistered and re-registered my face as the user, but my sister's face still unlocks the phone.

Interestingly, other faces do not unlock the phone.

I keep wondering, Do we look alike? Just take a look at us.

Is my device not smart enough to detect the difference?

I posted this on my WhatsApp status and got lots of responses from my contacts. Some said we have the same eyes, while others said we look alike, like twins.

My sister's face keeps unlocking my phone, and I don't know why.

People on Hive and offline always say my sister and I look alike, it has even become an anthem at school. Maybe we have the same eyes, I doubt the nose, but that doesn't explain why her face keeps unlocking my phone.

It's so strange and funny at the same time. We both laughed when we discovered this, but I'm still trying to figure out if it's a coincidence or if my phone is actually recognizing our similarities. Maybe my phone thinks we are twins separated at birth!

The second and third images are mine.
