I and Boracay πŸŒŠπŸš£πŸπŸ–

"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” β€” Anonymous

A very striking quote that makes someone even I think in regard of traveling. Reality, somehow is like a battlefield many try to escape and perhaps setbacks may occur. However, reality is reality and we cannot change nor alter the path we are taking. In life, we just need something that will let our frustrations be exuded and that is a vacation or a trip somewhere over the rainbow. A kind of escape that is much needed to simply seize life's greatest episode. Would you agree?

Most people think that going to Boracay will cost you much. But thanks to airlines bidding low-cost flights from Cebu to Caticlan, visiting the said spot has become so much easier nowadays.

BORACAY

Boracay is said to be a tropical island around 55 minutes flight from Cebu in the Philippines, covering a distance of 285 km. The island is one of the country's most developed tourist destinations vouchsafing us with superb long white sand beaches, stunning sunsets and many more that gives anyone visiting it something to remember.

Prior to my visit there 3 years ago, the only thing I knew about Boracay was the white sand beaches. But I soon discovered that the island is indeed an amazing destination for outdoor adventures, even distinctive ones that you can't find elsewhere in the Philippines.

White sand at its best

With so many unique and awe-inspiring things to see, taste and experience in Boracay Island, it can be overwhelming trying to decide what to do first. Fun and exciting activities are there to meet you. Of course, you need to consider your preference and budget before attempting to get one. However, I can assure you that a single activity is worth the dosh. Push! πŸ˜…

HOW TO GET THERE:

  • By Plane ✈️
There are two airports serving Boracay:
  1. Caticlan or Godofredo P. Ramos Airport - This is much smaller and closer airport, only a few kilometers away from Caticlan Jetty Port. After exiting the airport, you can find tricycle stand across the street, past the different resort or accommodation booth offerings. A tricycle from the airport to Caticlan Jetty Port is 50 pesos per person. But the cost might differ depending on your bargaining skills. This doesn't include the environmental and port fee which you can pay at the port upon check-in. At Caticlan Port, you need to register, prepare your vaccination cards, and pay for environmental and terminal fees and wait for the ferry for Boracay Island.

2.Kalibo International Airport - A quite big airport yet much farther from Boracay than Caticlan airport. There are vans, buses, and shuttles that serve travelers between the airport and Caticlan Jetty Port. A van takes approximately one and a half hours and costs 150 pesos excluding the environmental and terminal fees once you reached the port.

NOTE:Before booking a flight, make sure you already have booked a hotel or inn in Boracay Island since they will not allow the travelers to get in the island if you don't abide. So, take chances.

With this, let me share MY SPECTACULAR EXPERIENCE:

When I finally got to the island, I rode another trike going to Station 2 since the accommodation (Hostel Avenue) which I booked was located few steps away from D'Mall. The very interesting part before I booked Hostel Avenue was, it's under a promotion of 399 for 3 days, 2 nights stay. What a privilege!

🏠 It is a simple beachfront airconditioned inn with bunk beds and free WIFI besides, offering a rooftop bar. This hostel is located at the 3rd and 4th floor Pats Creek Barangay Balabag, Boracay Station 2.

Let us not forget the D'Mall that I have mentioned above. It is an outdoor shopping plaza with a variety of restaurants, souvenir shops, cafes, bars and everything in between. Definitely a one-stop shop for anything you need while you are on the island. It's a relief to me since my accommodation is just few steps away from D'Mall. Source of Information

πŸ”πŸ¨ One of the best cafes I once entered while wandering around D'Mall was the Halomango (formerly called Halowich). It is the halo-halo, ice cream and sandwich house of D'Mall Boracay. Luckily, I got the chance to enjoy a different twist of halo-halo ice cream called Halomango and paired it with a chicken sandwich. What a lavishing meal for a hungry wanderer! πŸ˜‹

SATISFACTION 😍

🌞 CHASING THE SUNSET 🌞

My heart was full when I had the chance to witness the Boracay sunset. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky plus the silhouette of the sailing boats. It's splendid! I fell in love once and for all. Boracay is the perfect spot to take Instagram-worthy sunset shot since it offers a 360 view of the island. Isn't it amazing? Many tourists were able to catch the beautiful sunset too.

🏝 Island Hopping 🏝
There are a variety of outdoor activities in Boracay you can choose from and one of those is Island Hopping. Your vacation couldn't be complete without trying such. I decided to be a 'joiner' on the second day of my Boracay adventure. I felt so relieved since I haven't felt any inkling of uneasiness.
The island hopping package includes snorkeling and excursion to Puka Beach.

πŸ—Ώ On our way to Puka Beach there you can see a variety of rock formations. Those were isolated, scenic and spectacular surface rock outcrop. Too good to be true!

🏝 PUKA BEACH
Here comes one of the longest beaches on the island of Boracay. Puka Beach got its name from Puka shells that were used to be lined on the beach. It is very serene and boasts crystal azure waters, powdery white sand, and abundant flora and fauna. It feels like a paradise to step on it.

Depending on your mood and area of interest, you can choose to party on the beach which are mostly overflowing with alcohol and go up to dawn. Or you can party like a city folk in any of the several pubs, bars or clubs situated on the beach and also in the interior of the island. There are also several casual lounges where you can have a meal with live music to soothe your senses. You can especially visit here if you want to spend a romantic night with your loved one. Sana all! πŸ˜‚

Overall, Boracay is a beautiful island, and I can see why it has become so famous. In addition, its beauty is certainly a redeeming factor, and watching everything happening on that beach entertained me enough to make up for it being so busy. And it definitely helped me to achieve my main goal during the holidays – relaxing, on a beach, in the sun, in a very appealing place.

What are you waiting for? Visit Boracay and make your trip complete your bucket list. πŸ˜€

Thanks for spending time reading this post. A pleasant day!
