A post about this year's Oktoberfest fits in with today's #BeerSaturday. We were there with the whole family this year and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the Bavarian atmosphere to the full. We were there on the last day, when most of the tourists had already left.

zum heutigen #BeerSaturday passt ein Post über das diesjährige Oktoberfest. Wir waren dieses Jahr mit der ganzen Familie dort und haben das schöne Wetter und die bayerische Atmosphäre in vollen Zügen genossen. Wir waren am letzten Tag dort, wo die meisten Touristen schon weg sind.

For the first time we went to the Marstall (which means stables), where right at the entrance you can see the quadriga, consisting of four trotting and rising horses and a Bavaria, as shown in the first picture.
Inside, the atmosphere is informal and relaxed, with the family taking centre stage during the day. Spaten beer is served here, which comes from the Spaten brewery, part of Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu GmbH, which in turn is part of the Anheuser-Busch InBev Group.
You can meet many celebrities in this tent, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is a regular guest.

Drinnen geht es familiär und entspannt zu, tagsüber steht die Familie im Mittelpunkt. Hier wird Spaten-Bier ausgeschenkt, das von der Spaten-Brauerei kommt, die zur Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu GmbH gehört, die wiederum Teil der Anheuser-Busch InBev-Gruppe ist.
In diesem Zelt trifft man viele Prominente, wie zum Beispiel Arnold Schwarzenegger, der Stammgast ist.

As we drove on, the beer coach arrived with the brewery horses. It's a lovely tradition and I look forward to seeing them every year. They deliver several times a day and the beer is drunk in abundance at the Wiesn.
Als wir weiterfuhren, kam der Bierkutsche mit dem Brauereigespann. Das ist eine schöne Tradition und ich freue mich, sie jedes Jahr zu sehen. Sie liefern mehrmals am Tag aus, das Bier wird auf der Wiesn reichlich getrunken.
Another must is the Hax'n-Semmel from the Haxnbraterei. This is the tastiest fast food in the world and although it is very simply made, where you put a knuckle of pork in a roll, it tastes super delicious. A real treat for the palate.
Ein weiteres Muss ist die Hax'n-Semmel aus der Haxnbraterei. Das ist das leckerste Fastfood der Welt und obwohl es sehr einfach gemacht ist, wo man eine Haxn in eine Semmel steckt, schmeckt es super lecker. Ein wahrer Gaumenschmaus.

...arrived at our destination, the Oide Wiesn. The Oide Wiesn was launched in 2010 to mark the 200th anniversary of the Oktoberfest. Here you can enjoy the traditional rides for just €1.5 per ride, the tents are decorated as they used to be and everything is more relaxed.

There we were greeted directly with a Bulldog tractor show. My watchmaker grandfather also had a bulldog in 1922, which made his work much easier. It's nice to see how the machines from 100 years ago work.
Dort wurden wir direkt mit einer Bulldog Traktor Show empfangen. Mein Uhr-Großvater hatte 1922 auch einen Bulldog, was seine Arbeit sehr erleichtert hat. Es ist schön zu sehen, wie die Maschinen von vor 100 Jahren funktionieren.
Other car brands that unfortunately no longer exist today, such as Hanomag or Magirus-Deutz, were also represented.

We went to the museum tent, which is very child-friendly because there is a carousel and a cycling track. Our son really wanted to ride the merry-go-round several times, which we understood.
Wir sind in das Museumszelt gegangen, das sehr kinderfreundlich ist, weil es dort ein Karussell und eine Radrennbahn gibt. Unser Sohn wollte unbedingt mehrmals mit dem Karussell fahren, was wir gut verstanden haben.
There was also Spatenbier and Franziskaner here. My father really wanted a wheat beer and I wanted an Oktoberfest beer. There was also music - you can't go to Oktoberfest without music.
Hier gab es auch Spatenbier und Franziskaner. Mein Vater wollte unbedingt ein Weißbier und ich ein Oktoberfestbier. Musik gab es auch, ohne Musik geht es auf dem Oktoberfest nicht.
Outside, my son wanted to ride the Märchenland Express, the oldest working children's railway in the world, as it was built in 1924 and is still running today.
Draußen wollte mein Sohn mit dem Märchenland-Express fahren, der ältesten funktionierenden Kindereisenbahn der Welt, denn sie wurde 1924 gebaut und fährt noch heute.
We also drove the old cars. I like the way they look, they remind me of the cars from the 30s to 70s.

A round of bowling was also possible in the old bowling alley.

When it got late, we made our way home. It was a very nice day and we were glad to have spent it together in a good atmosphere.
Als es spät wurde, machten wir uns auf den Heimweg. Es war ein sehr schöner Tag und wir waren froh, ihn gemeinsam in einer guten Atmosphäre verbracht zu haben.
