Newlywed Adventures: A Joyful Zoo Visit

Today, I want to share with you those special moments I spent with my wife during our post-wedding holidays. I am very happy to think that I spent such a wonderful time with my wife, traveling to different places after our wedding. We didn't have a bike or a car, but we still went out every day using public transport and online car rental services. This journey of exploring after my wedding will always remain in my memory, and I advise everyone to travel after their wedding and make this time memorable. You can travel later as well, but the joy right after marriage is unique and unforgettable. One day, just randomly, my wife and I decided to go to the zoo.

I’d like to mention that going to the zoo is not a favorite activity for many people. The main reason is that the zoo doesn't have many animals, and according to people, it's not a very clean place. My opinion differs from this. You can enjoy any place if you have a good partner with you. The place itself becomes enjoyable. Another thing is that I have loved zoos since childhood, so visiting the zoo was on my list after marriage. The plus point was that my wife never made a fuss about going anywhere and happily accompanied me. For this, I consider myself very fortunate.

If we look at it, zoos are often considered places for children, but this is a notion we've created ourselves. People of all ages can visit the zoo. My wife and I arrived early in the morning. Believe me, the zoo was very clean, and we didn't find the dirt that people usually talk about. Instead, there were lush green plants and trees, and the clean environment made walking there a delightful experience. I agree that there weren't many animals, but the ones that were there were nice. There were various kinds of monkeys and deer, and there was even a lion, which is called the king of the jungle, but honestly, it didn't look like a king at all—it looked more like a big cat. There were a lot of turtles, which my wife really liked. I've always loved ninja turtles since childhood, so it was amusing for me too!

We also had a great time at the fish aquarium. There were many different types of fish, all colorful and vibrant, and the place was very clean. After that, we moved on to the area with beautiful birds. There were many different kinds of birds, and we spent a lot of time by the peacocks. I wanted to show my wife a peacock dancing, but after waiting for a long time, the peacock didn't seem in the mood to dance, so we moved on.

Finally, we visited the elephants. We had initially planned to see them first, but there was a big crowd, and the visiting time for the elephants was at 2 PM, so we decided to spend time with them last. Elephants seem like very gentle creatures, but they can be quite destructive if they get angry. To make this moment memorable, I hired a photographer to take our picture and had it printed right there at the zoo shop. This is a great service available at the zoo—you can have your picture taken and printed for just PKR 500. This photo will always remind us of our post-wedding visit to the zoo.

The Karachi zoo is very large, and if the weather is nice, walking around is a great pleasure. While exploring, we eventually reached the museum. There was a small entry fee of about PKR 50. The museum is excellent for children, but we didn’t find it particularly enjoyable. There were artificial animals, which are interesting for kids, but we were there to see real animals. There were also some bones, skulls, and various other items displayed in glass cases. The museum didn't offer much excitement for us, but we still tried to enjoy it by taking pictures and making the most of the experience.

After visiting the elephants, two more activities stood out as the highlights of our trip: the train-like bus ride and boating. The zoo is so large that they run a train-like bus that takes you around the entire zoo, allowing you to explore it fully. This activity was a lot of fun for me.

Following the bus ride, we went boating. This required some effort as we used a pedal boat, which moves with cycling motions. My wife and I really enjoyed this activity. We had a great time at the zoo, enjoying every moment.

Whenever I share this experience with others, they are surprised and ask, "You went to the zoo after your wedding? Who does that?" But my wife and I know just how much we enjoyed it. Even today, I consider the zoo a good place to visit.

All above pictures except the one with Elephant are taken through my cell phone Moto E4.
