Kinatarcan Island.

Located between the popular destinations of Bantayan and Malapascua off the northernmost coast of Cebu, Kinatarcan also
spelled Kinatarkan and also known as Guintacan Island.

The island is within the municipality of Santa Fe, Bantayan. Kinatracan comprises of 3 barangay which are the following Hagdan, Kinatarkan and Langub.

Why we got there?

Due to our superior. She treated us after our team building. Look at us we are very excited not knowing it would be a sad and happy experience of us riding a boat.

Literally, you can see on those faces that we are really excited but the weather that time was Amihan or should I say northeast monsoon. The waves are hitting us like where about to be capsized. But what is waves if we are laagan (wanderer).

And we finally able to dock at Kinatarcan Island. The view above was superb. You can see that the ocean was calmier but it was not. As you can see there was a lot of fishing boats at the Island because their main way of living was fishing.

We swam to the Laaw Lagoon under the lagoon was a sea grapes or sea caviar locally known as Lato. But I heard stories that if you got some Lato's from the lagoon you need to fully consumed it coz might something happen to you. So, when I tried to taste it, I got some that's just enough for me to consume. Anyway, the experience was worth it.

Another proof that we've been to Laaw Lagoon. Those are my workmates at Sugureta Corporation but unfortunately, I wasn't able to remember some of their names already.

As you can see, we already at the boat but before we got there some jumped over the cliff, but me I was very careful because the rocks are so sharp.

After such our boatman brough us to the near beach. Look at the sand it's white. The group was so happy for the time being.

We tried the group jump shot but look at that. πŸ˜‚ 🀣 It was so funny looking at it. Some are unable to jump due to their weights. And some of my colleagues lost his denture due to strong waves. It was so funny when I thought why when he speaks it was hungaw or the air passes through 🀣 πŸ˜‚ and that's when he learned that his dentures were lost and cannot be found.

When we are about to go home the boatman was eager to go home early because he had a thing to be done by the afternoon and due to its boats course instead of against the current, he did the other thing and we encountered one big wave that almost got us and about to capsized our boat but thank fully it didn't happen.

The moral of this post: Check the weather if you are gonna travel whenever by land, air or by sea.

Ligtas ang may alam. (You are safe if you have the knowledge)

HOW TO GET THERE?

From the North Bus Terminal, take a bus bound for Daanbantayan, tell the driver or the Bus conductor to drop you off at the Daanbantayan Public Market. Then ride a tricycle or just walk going to the port bound for Kinatarcan Island just ask the locals where regular passenger boats are lining up bound to the Island. Tell the boatman that you are bound to Pasil, Kinatarcan Island. If you’re going there as a group, you can rent a boat from Daanbantayan. For fares, it might have changes due to inflation so better do your research because fares may vary.
