The Stob earth pyramids are one of the most popular natural sites among tourists in Bulgaria. They are located not far from the village of Stob, in the southwestern part of Rila Mountain
The thickness of the pyramids is 30-40 m, their average height is 6-10 m, and in some places they reach 12 m. Some of the pyramids are sharp and needle-shaped, others are pyramidal or conical and end with a "stone" cap, resembling huge mushrooms.
Most pyramids are on the southern slope. They are colored from light yellow to dark brown and red. Their picturesque compositions have different names - Towers, Hammers, Samodiv Chimneys, Gathers, Brothers, Matchmakers.
They are most beautiful at sunset or in the moonlight. The pyramids in the village of Stob can be observed from top to bottom from the built eco-trail. From the top of the pyramids there is a wonderful view of the Rila Mountains
