The terraces in Artemisa, Cuba, is a tourist complex that is part of the Sierra del Rosario and was listed by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve in 1985.
Its name is due to the fact that in the 19th century farmers dug terraces for the cultivation of coffee, those coffee plantations were completely ruined, and those ruins are a current tourist place thanks to their history and the amazing views that can be seen from there. Years ago they decided to plant millions of trees on those terraces to create that wonderful natural environment that characterizes the place.
This lush natural environment invites you to spend the day with the family with endless outdoor activities such as the wonderful and spectacular canopy, I had the recent experience and I recommend it 100%, the peace that transmits being in the air surrounded by nature is unique, you can also go camping with your friends, there are many rivers away from the main part of the complex that are a de There is the boat house, where you can rent a small boat for time to walk on the lake and enjoy the views, the hiking, the visit to the Polo Montañez museum house, and last but not least the San Juan River, which is essential for this eternal summer in Cuba. The truth is that this place gives me the idea of the Yellowstone park of the adventures of the Yogi Bear.
If you want to stay on the terraces, I recommend the Hotel Moca, a place that is more connected to nature I think impossible, clean, with a wonderful and unique attention and views, quiet, without car noise, only the guest and the songs of the typical birds of the place such as the tocororo, the cartacuba, the woodpecker and many more. There are also the rental houses, very comfortable and with a wonderful attention and views of the river and the mountains.
This place is undoubtedly magical, its hills, lakes and pine trees make it a unique and spectacular place to visit with family and friends. It is a place to spend an incredible weekend of camping surrounded by nature and peace. I invite you to visit it and enjoy it as much as I do.
