In this post I will tell you how beautiful the Sianok Canyon is in West Sumatra Province. and behind me there is a view of the active Mount Merapi, West Sumatra, where you can see the top of the mountain is still emitting hot lava, even 1 year ago this mountain had no signs of erupting. It suddenly erupted and there were fatalities, namely several students during mountain climbing activities This. the news even went viral on social media.
Actually, this place is not far from the center of Tebing Tinggi City, the air is very fresh, not too hot and not too cold. For a two-season country like mine, this climate is very suitable for relaxing, even I, who am used to being in a quite hot city, don't want to take off my jacket, even though in the end I took it off and I am quite comfortable with the air here.
and in this place we can not only enjoy the view, but we can also look at the market which contains sellers of accessories typical of West Sumatra so if you want to buy souvenirs here at cheap prices there are many stands selling knick-knacks which are directly made by The craftsmen are here and the quality is also good. I really like it and I bought several things at this place. Oh yes, the food here is delicious and the price is cheap, even though it's only a small trader, don't hesitate to try it.
I was satisfied walking around this place and my feet were a little sore. I rested for a few minutes while taking a deep breath to enjoy the fresh air in this city even though this is the city center. After I felt I had enough rest, I continued my journey to Si Anok Canyon which is below this place, but the journey was quite tiring if we walked on foot so we took a detour on a motorbike. The distance is quite close and only 5 minutes drive.
In this place there are cliffs that are overgrown with small trees but not evenly distributed and that is where the exotic view of this hill is. At the bottom of the hill where I took the photo at the moment, there is a small river flowing. The water in this river should be quite clear considering that this place is not an industrial place and the location has lots of green trees. and it turns out that this river is murky because this river is a flow from the cold lava of Mount Merapi which is still emitting smoke. and I was a little horrified by this sight, my thoughts became no-no, what if there was further flooding and the water discharge was quite high.
but I was quite amazed because it turned out that some visitors even dared to bring their children to bathe in this river, even on the banks of the river there were several traders who actually took their place on the river bank to make it easier for visitors to buy their wares. Extraordinary courage or because they are used to conditions like this or I, who am a newcomer, have excessive fear. and actually I really like this place, it is very comfortable and peaceful, the residents here are also very welcoming and there are no illegal levies here. However, because it was already afternoon, I decided to end my visit to this place and return to the hotel where I was staying. and I think this is an extraordinary place that makes my heart restless but very curious about the beauty of the place.
