Hello, lovely people out there!

I'm back again and ready to take you back with me, during 1676 when the constitution of the iconic Shree Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib took place. The temple is situated in the heart of Dehradun city at Uttarakhand, India.

Shri Darbar Sahib represents a distinctive combination of traditional and modern elements. They are working along with a mission that has been delivering quality education and healthcare to hundreds of thousands of individuals.

As soon as you enter the place, your soul can tell how peaceful it is, if you have one. It's a prominent Sikh shrine dedicated to guru Gobind Singh Ji.

You guys might be wondering what's the pole in the middle of the temple doing?

It's called Nishan Sahib which is the hallmark of sikh gurudwara and it represents the presence of guru. You will find such poles at every gurudwara you visit in the world.

And to my surprise I found out along with the place of worship this temple is also a community centre embodying the value of Sikhism and hospitality. That's rare and truly appreciable.

This was the entrance to the gurudwara and it did serve as a meaningful transition from the outside world to a sacred space, you can feel it as soon as you are inside.

The grand archway welcomes and attracts tourists as well as devotees all around the world.

I guess you are also lost just like me in the vibrant colors, decorative carvings and the welcoming atmosphere of the temple. Well you need to feel lost in order to find yourself. And its the sole purpose of this place.

Its quite interesting that everything has meaning and a reason for things done in a specific way in ancient places. Upon talking to the people there I came to know why I see saffron and blue all over.

These colours reflect sikh identity and spirituality

The temple includes an open courtyard where visitors can gather, emphasizing community and inclusivity.

The serene environment and architectural beauty attract both devotees and tourists here. I loved the place and the vibes here. Its was like entering different place one after other and in the center we have Darbar Sahib where the Guru Granth Sahib is placed.

1000003787.jpg

The Guru Granth Sahib, which is the holy scripture of Sikhism, is placed on a raised platform which is also know as Palki Sahib and it symbolizes the living presence of the Guru.

1000003768.jpg

And the last part of this temple include a pond, which is quite common at every gurudwara.
Let me tell you why.

1000003760.jpg

1000003756.jpg

The presence of a pond can represent the sacredness of the space and water is a symbol of purity.

And the water from the pond is used to do the ceremonial purposes, such as cleansing rituals and also for offering. There were fish in the pond and it was enhancing its beauty even more and also it's a sopt of tourists attraction too.

Well, it's all about my visit to this devine temple and believe me a day isn't enough. I have tried my best to pass on my knowledge about this place and I hope it's worth it.

Thank you for your precious time.
