When talking about cryptocurrency, then, we also have to know about cryptology. It seems like a new topic, but cryptology has been around since ancient times. Where this is the science of keeping information or news secret. Information or news that is kept secret is not something new, sometimes used for important activities for the benefit of many people.

Since ancient times, cryptology has been a necessity for every country, it could be something that can maintain the stability of the country. I found out when I was in a museum that only exists in Indonesia, the Cryptography Museum in Yogyakarta.

This used to be the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then it was made into a cryptography museum because it was believed to be a cultural heritage. So, this museum is not just a museum, but has a meaningful meaning for the Indonesian nation. But unfortunately, there are too few enthusiasts in this museum, even at that time only my wife and I visited the museum.

One of my goals in Yogyakarta was to find out how the cryptography system in Indonesia has been since ancient times. How in colonial times they communicated with each other and exchanged news or important information. So it can be said as a place that has quite a lot of history from the past to the present.

The building of this code museum is also very large, even like being in a time museum and I went back to the colonial era. Not only the equipment on display looks ancient and old, but the building also has the same sensation. It is an honor to be here, making me understand the meaning of the struggle of the ancestors to make this country independent.

There are so many machines used to share codes as an opener of important information. That is what is part of the history of this country of Indonesia, even this is more interesting than anything else. Something that is now a question makes me realize that cryptology is very important.

Well, one important piece of information, here there is a statue showing a founder of Indonesian code, named dr. Roebiono Kertopati, he was a person who was very instrumental in the code system in Indonesia. There are so many of his services that are poured into the progress of code in Indonesia in the past, even though there were many limitations at that time.

In addition to the place that amazes me enough, the staff who work also help me a lot. Given a friendly briefing and guide, he even told me in detail about some of the legacy of the cipher machines here. Not only that, at the end of the session I was given a game in playing ciphers. Quite happy even beyond expectations.

I like unique and informative places like this. Unfortunately, things like this are very few and even become less popular. In the midst of this increasingly strange civilization, especially now very few people are interested in deepening their knowledge, because it has been made easier by social media and then lulled. I'm sure, things like this can open up insights, however, it looks very boring in the era of globalization.

For that, if you are in Yogyakarta, visit this place. In addition to the free entrance ticket, you can get an extraordinary experience related to cryptology.
