How are you? I hope everything is okay. I went on a little trip recently. Today I want to tell you about this trip. I visited Konya, the city where I studied at university, again after a long time. It was very exciting to wander the streets of this city again after many years.

Nasılsınız? Umarım her şey yolundadır. Kısa bir süre önce ufak bir seyahate çıktım. Bugün sizlere bu seyahatimden bahsetmek istiyorum. Üniversite okuduğum şehir olan Konya’yı uzun bir aradan sonra tekrar ziyaret ettim. Yıllar sonra yeniden bu şehrin sokaklarında dolaşmak çok heyecanlıydı.
Konya is a city located in the Central Anatolia region of our country, famous for its historical and cultural riches. This time, I could only spend one day in this city where I spent my university years. My main purpose was to visit my friend who lives in Doğanhisar, a district of Konya. While I was in Konya, I couldn't resist without taking a small city tour.
Konya, ülkemizin İç Anadolu bölgesinde yer alan tarihi ve kültürel zenginlikleriyle ünü bir şehirdir. Üniversite yıllarımın geçtiği bu şehirde bu kez sadece bir gün geçirebildim. Asıl amacım Konya’nın ilçesi olan Doğanhisar’da yaşayan arkadaşımı ziyaret etmekti. Konya’ya gitmişken ufak bir şehir turu yapmadan dayanamadım.
As soon as I arrived at the bus station in the morning, I took the tram and got off at Zafer Street. I can say that this street is where the heart of the city beats.
Sabah otogara varır varmaz tramvaya binip Zafer Caddesi’nde indim. Bu cadde, şehrin kalbinin attığı yer diyebilirim.
After walking for a while, I wanted to go up Alaaddin Hill. I had a nice breakfast here and admired the surrounding view.
Biraz yürüdükten sonra Alaaddin Tepesi’ne çıkmak istedim. Burada güzel bir kahvaltı yaptım ve çevredeki manzarayı seyre daldım.
After breakfast, I took action again to visit the Mevlana museum. Mevlana Museum is one of the most important symbols of Konya. The tomb of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi is located here.
Kahvaltının ardından Mevlana müzesini ziyaret etmek üzere tekrar harekete geçtim. Mevlana Müzesi, Konya’nın en önemli simgelerinden biridir. Burada Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi’nin türbesi bulunur.
As soon as I entered this tomb, which is visited by many local and foreign tourists, I felt at peace. The green dome made with excellent workmanship in the middle of the courtyard immediately attracted attention.
Yerli yabancı birçok turistin ziyaret ettiği bu türbeye girer girmez içim huzur doldu. Avlunun ortasında mükemmel bir işçilikle yapılmış yeşil kubbe hemen dikkat çekiyordu.
The miniatures in the small rooms inside the museum were very close to reality and impressive.
Müzenin iç kısmında bulunan küçük odalardaki minyatürler gerçeğe çok yakın ve etkileyiciydi.
After my visit to the Mevlana Museum, I came to a municipal restaurant for dinner upon my friend's suggestion. This place was located very close to Mevlana Square.
Mevlana Müzesi ziyaretimden sonra akşam yemeği için arkadaşımın önerisi ile belediyeye ait bir restorana geldim. Burası Mevlana meydanına çok yakın bir lokasyondaydı.
I couldn't wait to try Konya's famous dishes and desserts. Because I missed these flavors so much.
Konya’nın ünlü yemek ve tatlılarını denemek için sabırsızlanıyordum. Çünkü bu lezzetleri çok özlemiştim.
My menu included okra soup, meat bread and höşmerim dessert.
Menümde bamya çorbası, etli ekmek ve höşmerim tatlısı vardı.
Okra soup delighted my palate with its slightly sour and spicy taste.
Bamya çorbası hafif ekşi ve baharatlı tadıyla damağımı şenlendirdi.
The meat bread was really great with its thin dough and plenty of ingredients.
Etli ekmek ise incecik hamuru ve bol malzemesiyle gerçekten harikaydı.
Höşmerim dessert perfectly suppressed my post-dinner sweet tooth.
Höşmerim tatlısı da yemek sonrası tatlı krizimi mükemmel bir şekilde bastırdı.
I paid a total of 380 Turkish Liras for this menu.
Bu menüye toplam 380 Türk Lirası ödeme yaptım.
After the meal, I set out to return to the bus station. As I mentioned at the beginning of my article, I was going to travel to the district called Doğanhisar again to visit my friend. So I came to the end of a short but beautiful city tour.
Yemeğin ardından tekrar otogara dönmek üzere yola koyuldum. Yazımın başında da belirttiğim üzere arkadaşımın yanına gitmek üzere Doğanhisar adlı ilçeye tekrar seyahat edecektim. Kısa ama güzel bir şehir turunun böylece sonuna gelmiştim.
