People of the world!
I’m back again! I’ve been kinda quiet lately but I’ve now taken my writing cape back out of the closet!
(Picture me standing in the wind like a superhero, but with a keyboard in front of me)
It’s Sunday so I’ll kick it off with another edition of #KeepExploring.
It’s where I take you with me to explore (curacao) and show you my favorite spots.
Welcome to Fort Nassau, Curacao
Fort Nassau was built around 1800 and it’s one of the many (historical) strategic military strongholds on the island.
This one is different, since it’s high up on a cliff it has a full 360 view of the island. It looks over the Sint Anna Bay (which is the only way from sea into the harbor).
Quick sideline: St Anna Bay is where most pictures are taken, it splits Punda and Otrobanda.
Fort Nassau also very central, almost in the middle of the island and a 5 min drive from the city center (you may have to use google maps and make sure your car can climb a hill!)
Strategy aside, this fort is one of my favorite chill spots. I know I’ve been using the words ‘chill spot’ a lot but what I mean is that it’s a place (usually with a great view) where you can just hang out the clear your mind.
The fort is open 24/7 (the restaurant is not) and if you’re not scared of the dark, can actually be great place to see lights, check the stars, eat something and talk with friends. I mean what more do we want???
Besides it's pretty cozy inside!
Nowadays, there is also a restaurant with pretty good menu. I’m not sponsored or anything buttttttttt, if you visit, this is one of the better restaurants to check out. The food is good and the view is GREAT.
But back to the chill aspect of this! As you know by now I’m a huge photography lover and the fort gives you a great opportunity to practice your landscape shots.
I happened to be on assignment last weekend and I got both the sunset and the moonrise in one session!!!
Best of both worlds right?!
HDR drone shot at night!
Hope you guys liked the shots!
As always, feel free to ask me any questions, give me tips or just connect!
Cheers,
