Moscow: the Moskva river and the city (IV)

Hello people!

We continue with the tour, one more tour of the capital of Russia, of beautiful Moscow, and this time in addition to seeing more interesting points around the city, visiting different places and streets, we are going to see some iconic monuments with a different perspective, to through a boat ride on the Moskva River!

The city enjoys the passage of a river through the middle and that river is navigable and also has some island, where, for example, various entertainment venues or discos are grouped together, and other very characteristic elements, like some parks around, but it is simply a pleasant place from which contemplate the entire magnificent Russian city.

The Moskva River

So we approached the pier to get on one of the boats that cruise along the river and thus be able to see the city sailing, different buildings and monuments from different periods and styles appear on the shore and there is more to see.

Possibly what draws the most attention is the monument to Peter the Great that can be seen from a great distance. It is not a typical sculpture, but has many details and above all it is large in size, like everything in Russia.

But it is also curious that we see some old-fashioned factory that now functions as a chocolate factory! Unfortunately there was no stop there.

Then one of the most important churches without a doubt, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, also very large, which I think I have already shown and will surely show again from land, closer to better appreciate its beautiful architecture. It also stands out for its architecture, as we already saw, the entire Kremlin complex that we also see from the river.

And we ended up with two different elements, on the one hand an old Soviet-style building of Stalin, the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building and on the other, another more modern one, the Moscow International House of Music, next to it as we move away we see some plus also more modern design. Everything comes together on the banks of the Moskva River and while the sunlight falls...

More about the city

We return to land and talking about chocolate, even though we haven't been to the factory, there is a museum!

But walking around we discovered several places perhaps not so famous but curious, on the one hand the Pushkin Museum (a very important writer), the Tolstoy House-Museum (the famous writing of War and Peace) very small, sober but charming and also some other buildings that we find ourselves without further ado.

In Moscow we will see countless small orthodox churches with a colorful style, mixed with large and boring buildings from the Soviet era, statues, monuments, and other buildings perhaps a little more decorated, there is an interesting mix.

To finish this route, until next time, a relaxing place that was possibly one of my favorite areas, Chistye Prudy, a small wooded space with a lake that in winter becomes a skating rink in a quiet, elegant and classy area. In good weather you can have a drink while enjoying this pleasant environment.

A little more than we see of Moscow, it is a very big city with many places and points of interest, and it is not easy to collect them all in a few images, so again soon more about this amazing city!
