Actually, Anoi Itam is the name of a village located on the island of Sabang. Anoi itam in Acehnese means black sand. Here there is a historically valuable tourist destination, namely the Japanese heritage fort or also called the Anoi itam fort.
This fort is located on a rocky hill towards the east of the island.
To get to this fort we had to pass through stairs and passages. This hallway looks like a carved rock hill. At the top of the hill there is a building where cannons are placed. This cannon made of steel aimed at the high seas. This cannon is 3 meters long
Not far from the cannon there is an inscribed stone or inscription that explains the existence of the fort.
From this article, I can conclude that this fort is a relic of the Japanese army during the second world war between 1942 and 1945. The fort was used by the Japanese army at that time to store their weapons and ammunition.
It is said that under this hill there are many secret passages or caves that were used for the transfer of Japanese troops at that time (1942-1945).
This complex is fenced with walls about one meter high.
Many tourists come here in addition to seeing the historical buildings relic of the Japanese army between the years 1942 - 1945, also to enjoy the natural scenery of the sea and the beach below which is very beautiful.
