The Bottom of the Well

My water well is full of sulfur and minerals where I rent. I live in the country and this house is not tied to the local septic or water lines.

What does it mean to have a sulfar loaded well? The water smells like eggs. Everything that has water flowing into it regularly gets mineral buildup. This also means the toilet stains are dark as rust stains and the shower gets the same discoloration.

The cat's metal water bowl corrodes with mineral build up and we can't enjoy a drink of water straight from the tap. I use bottled water for the bird because he refuses to drink the water from the tap. Maybe he knows something?

We go through a lot of bottled drinking water and Jeff's bought some purified gallons to save the Keurig machine from coffee death. It stopped working for a bit. I was using PUR filtered water, but Jeff explained that doesn't remove the minerals from the water so it builds up inside the Keurig and clogs the inner tubing.

****five minute mark****

When we build on the land after purchasing we will drill a new well and hopefully that will help the situation, until then I discovered that The Works toilet bowl cleaner works well on both the stains and mineral build up, even better than CLR cleaner and cost a fraction of CLR.

I hope your water doesn't smell and is always crystal clear!
