It’s not always like that either. I was the skinny girl (naturally, not by starving myself) up until my 30s, the so-called “cluster of bones”. When all the girls started looking feminine, I looked like I was still 9 or 10. From 12 on there was a lot of bullying in school, and in college — lots of judgement from random people, to the point where someone I barely know would feel it’s okay to say something like “are you sure you are okay? You are too skinny, you should go see a doctor.” For the longest time I felt embarrassed about my legs (sticks), chest (flat), hips (narrow), dating (who would want someone THAT thin), etc. it took like 10 years from the age of 12 to about 20-22, to finally stop carrying about what people think or say 😊
