I think the shortest story I've ever written was a tweet story. A story in 120 characters without spacing. Zapfic is taking me back there. This time, 240 characters.
Prompt is feathers.
She saw it first, blood. Little spots everywhere. Then feathers. Panicked, she followed them to the sitting room. Her toddler sat in a pool of red wine.
“Mama”, she chortled.
She heaved a sigh of relief. It was neither blood not her chicken.
