Hello fellow hivers,,
Hope ya'll are doing good. I'm a little excited with my new journey. Early I stated my new years resolution which included completing a number of books which I believe could change how I think of everything to better focuse my energy into a more direct goal with a higher chance of achievement.
Earlier this day I went out to a bookshop to purchase one of my new year resolution book which is "The Richest man in Babylon" by George S. Clason . I had an idea or atleast i thought i had a grasp about what the book was all about which led me to underestimate the book at first but upon reading the first two chapters, am now starting to warm up to the idea that the book has more to offer than what meets the eye .
What go me excited and riled up about the book was the beginning, in chapter one (the man who desired gold) how he stated or implied that everything starts with a dream by saying "It began with a dream, a senseless dream, in which I thought I was a man of means." This in some way made sense to me because, everyone has a dream even those who have achieved greatness. But I thought this was directed to those with the passion to achieve something great, this was said to assure them that every successful individual started with having a dream and so having a dream was a necessary first step. It also went on to imply that at first, ones dreams may seem scattered or unachievable or Impossible to him or her because of his or her current situation, be it financial, emotional, physical, spiritual or any form but that doesn't mean on can't still achieve success.
Which then lead me to my next factor which I love very much. This was the basis for the second chapter of the book this chapter is actually called "the richest man in Babylon" and this was "A part of what you earn is yours to keep". After reading this chapter it actually made sense and a great advice because when I take myself for example i like to believe i want to achieve success but I do the exact opposite of what it takes to achieve that. Instead of paying myself first of everything I earn I rather pay others first. I know some may think this is absurd and making all sort of excuse of how this is senseless but if you actually sit down to actually pay attention to how you spend your income earnings you will understand what was meant.
Another important lesson I learnt from this chapter was to develop Willpower the willpower to go through with which ever objective I set for myself, and don't even think of procrastinating a single task now matter how tedious it can be.
Having read this few chapters of the book, I have no doubt that by the time I finish reading this book I am definitely going to think twice before acting. All my actions are going to be reflected to a certain reaction. I felt motivated to share what I have learnt so far because i like to share my view of things to get others input or what the think.
I would implore friends and everyone to try and make time to read this book as it has start to peak my interest in so many ways and areas.
