Flesh Golem | Entry for Splinterlands Art Contest for this week!

Splinterlands Art Contest!

Hey guys, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I think I'm also in a very productive stage now. Maybe it's because of the postive vibe around this festive season because my energy levels are finally back to normal so I'm posting early this time so that I post some more blogs before I do other important things in the real world. Anyway, I chose Flesh Golem to draw this time. I wanted to try out other non human characters from time to time so here is an another one.

My lineart process time has significantly reduced ever since I started drawing on the tab itself. I'm very comfortable with it nowso No need for books anymore. As you can see in the original art this Golem character is big so I wanted to add one more character in there with him to show the difference in size. I looked for some references and found one which suits my idea from Pinterest.

I decided to draw in manhwa/anime style this time around and it worked. I chose top side as light source. I initially painted this in normal lighting so the contrast was low but later changed it to strong contrast by playing around with the tone curve to fit the new background. I decided that it was best to tilt the character to the left to make it more cool. I hope you enjoyed the process:)

Tip: Peakd still seems to be compressing images above 5MB, atleast in my case. I found an app called Dot Photo from playstore which retains the quality even after compression. It works really well and if you are having trouble with quality issues try this app out. Keep the size around 4MB and you will be good 👍
