We know it, we have learned it and we practice the liberating, healing power of art from this knowledge. That is why all madness must become art, all politics and every will directed towards the improvement of the conditions of man's existence should manifest itself artfully. The only positive revolution that has a chance of permanently liberating and fertilizing man is the work of artists. The freedom of art is the only guarantor of human freedom; this freedom, therefore, is also the first that a people is forced to give up when a tyrant comes to rule it.

The opening of the exhibition on September 19th happened two days after the 'floods of the century' in Austria. Particularly about Vienna (article in German). A lot of infrastructure was still affected, and public transportation within the city was interrupted, some running only partially. Particularly trains from the west were not running. Thus, many people could not attend the opening.
Die Eröffnung der Ausstellung am 19. September fand zwei Tage nach den "Jahrhundertfluten" in Österreich statt. Insbesondere über Wien. Viele Infrastrukturen waren immer noch betroffen, und der öffentliche Verkehr innerhalb der Stadt war unterbrochen, einige fuhren nur teilweise. Vor allem Züge aus dem Westen fuhren nicht. So konnten viele Menschen nicht an der Eröffnung teilnehmen.
The situation is much better now, everything is back to normal, so I am hoping for a 'FULL HOUSE' at this Finissage!

FYI - on all other days, except Monday when closed, the Ernst Fuchs Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM - the Galerie/Cafe Esther is next to the entrance of the grounds.
