Hello Fellas, 🤗
I made this painting about two months ago and not until three days ago, I never knew I haven't shared it here at all before.
This is a painting that portrays how many streets of Lagos City in Nigeria can be very busy with informal but important activities during the week days.
In the morning, you would see many with official wears running and bustling on the street in order to get to their work places early and then in the afternoon you would still see some streets so busy with people buying and selling and some other people rendering one service or the other, in all, Lagos is never less busy!
PROOFS OF OWNERSHIP!
I made my sketch of different figures on different pictures portraying activities on the streets of Lagos using my graphite pencil.
I blocked the skins of the figures and the yams using burnt umber, Red, and Burnt sienna in various mixtures. And I also painting the background with various tones and shades of gray.
At this stage, I decided the colours I wanted to give the cloths and covered them all up!
At this stage, there was so much work, I had to give details to the figures, cloths and also throw the my colours around in order not to have my background separated from the figures.
And here's the final stage where most of what I did was to intensify my highlights!
Kindly share your thoughts as comments below, I'll be glad to read and reply them all. Thanks.
