What's up folks! Hello hivers! It's already been 11 days ago since I posted something in On Chain Art community. It's because my online class which includes activities, projects, presentation and more consumes most of my time. I even barely noticed that its already the month of October which means that our midterm exam is fast approaching. There are few other things that also have been going on but last night I still managed to finish this portrait and decided to post it as soon as possible. So without a further a do, dive in and I'll show you.

I used my vivo smartphone and if you want to try the software then you can install it too.

PROCESS
Truth be told, before doing this I tried making my own character and it doesn't look good so I decided to ask google some portrait reference and draw it instead. I picked a reference photo from pinterest and its a portrait of a beautiful woman.
If you have visited my blog, then you will notice that my drawings are all portrait. It's because I got to practice different facial structures which consist the head, eyes, ears, nose, lips, brows, jaws and more. Some might say that I'm obsess with it but who doesn't anyway? When we watch ourselves in the mirror, we even look and examine it like a science project but personally I really find it weird when I tried making my self portrait. I just can't stand or even make a decent self portrait. I end up making fun of it like adding black tears and some crazy things.
Just like in my other digital art, I also made the outline of my reference photo which serves as my guide in proceeding to the next step. I make sure that when I add other layer, my first layer which is the portrait's outline should be above the other color layer.
Moreover, I make sure to click this layer before doing anything so that my actions will be placed in this layer and not in the first one. In this portrait, I strarted coloring the face by clicking the paint button and setting it as "watercolor (wet)", selecting a skin color and just set the opacity according to your liking.
I added some light and soft contours and the color of her lips. I am fully aware that my drawing have always a room for improvement. I am always willing to learn and time to time watch some videos which help me.
To be honest, I find my drawing weird and incomplete most of the times. The moment I exported it from Medibang, I genuinely am happy but every after I posted my drawings I always stare and think what are the things that I might do about it to look better. I feel like its kind of flat and there's something off so time to time I always remind myself that I just recently explored the realm of digital arts. My point is its fine to be slow as long as you are willing to learn each day and your version of today is better than your yesterday.
Pertaining back to my drawing, I colored the eyes, shadow in the neck, earrings, eyebrows, nose and hair. For me, blending colors has been one of the greatest challenges in my digital art journey. Even if I change the amount of force being exerted onto the phone's screen I still can't get my desired outcome. Thankfully, someone invented the "opacity". It really helps me a lot to get better and a bit smooth results.
I also colored the straps of her top, gradient in her ear and shadows in her collar bones. Lastly, I added a gray background color.
I hope you enjoy and like my drawing.
Note: Don't compare your works to the works of others. Compare your work of today from your work of yesterday.
MILLION THANKS FOR REACHING THIS FAR
