Random exploration with pen scribbling and white gouache strokes

Hello, Hive!

Today, I'd like to share some scribbled little thing I'm currently exploring.

Random scribbling with a ballpen is something I love to practice. It's spontaneous, doesn't requires tons of material, and can fill any spare moment that life grant us.

I also like the idea that any common little notebook might contain unexpected pieces of a weird unexplored imaginary universe. It's a matter of contrastsl, which sticks with the scribble art technique 🙂

Nothing prevents, though, the addition of more complex stuff later on the scribbled paper when the random litle drawing still seems to ask for attention.

That's what happenned with this one, on which I decided to play with bits of white gouache, exploring a bit further this textured landscape.

Of course, there's a colour alteration between raw drawing areas and painted ones, which may have to be solved, but for now, let's just play with the mix of drawing and painting for a short while.

Latest strokes, since I started to write this, made me get an interesting blue-greenish soft tint from the pen's ink mixed with white gouache.

That's also one of the fantastic things about spontaneous work: it brings us to commit errors in a safe environment, which triggers plenty of new discoveries to experiment.

Smoothing and refining this latest one is something I'll try to test further, maybe on this same notebook page, or maybe on another one.

Meanwhile, though, I'll simply thank you for the time spent at reading and watching this.

I wish you a great nice day... until the next one 😉

See you, Hive!
