Babylonstoren

Hello everyone in Wednesday walkers community.

I'm very excited to share my first Wednesday walk with you.

This week I went exploring the beautiful gardens of Babylonstoren.

Babylonstoren is farm just outside Cape town, South Africa. It is both a working wine and fruit farm and it actively supports the local community with employment and training.

Babylonstoren is a magical place. I think it's a farm of stories. It allows one to time travel back to when the gardens were first established by the Dutch in the 1600's with displays of dug up pottery and ancient apple trees.

The owners of Babylonstoren have created so many sections to explore, from the healing garden which is planted with medicinal herbs, to the spice garden- a warm green house of tropical plants. There is a clivia walk, a succulent house and cycad rock garden, and an abundance of other spaces.

My favourite places this week were the bird hide, the bee house and the hanging squash garden with special mention to the adorable donkeys.

This a garden that one can visit a 100 times and still experience something new. Each season is its own adventure and I can't wait to be back

I've added a link to their website and a map pin incase anyone wants to learn more about Babylonstoren or perhaps bookmark it for there own future visit.
