I don't know about you, but for me, gardens are not about control. They're about competion:)

These are Aquilegia or columbine. Kinda crazy looking flowers. I love the way they hover above their foliage like periscopes pointing different directions.
In keeping with the "purple" theme, I'll also add a Siberian iris. All irises are tubers helping them to hold their own, despite the fierce competition for space that is my flower gardens.
