Hello and greetings to hivers and friends π₯°.
The problem I have with traveling 𧳠is to make sure am traveling for something very important and for a good reason which needs my presence because I have βPhobia of Speedβ, and this has made me avoid traveling by roads for years now.
Although I usually enjoy seeing the nature along the desert π΅ while the vehicle π moves , and all the fresh fruits π and vegetables π₯ from farmers , or is it the native foods from some of the highway restaurants, but I feel so uneasy and uncomfortable seeing the vehicle on speed which keeps my heart β₯οΈ skipping haha π. So most times I travel with flight βοΈ which is just 50 minutes flying to Owerri or Port - Harcourt , then will take a cab π to the villa.
But it happened that this past April I needed to travel 𧳠with my family for a marriage ceremony and the cost π² in flight βοΈ was no go area because of how the price of Aviation Fuel β½οΈ has increased in triple from the former price and will be costing π²hail out from us so we decided to travel by road with a private car. And driving towards Benin, Edo State, we had a flat tyre on motion but God was indeed faithful that the driver was able to control the car.
Then wanting to change the very tyre became a big problem because the Jaguar π car tyre has not been changed before and has a special nuts to the tyre that needs special tools. The driver tried and tried with the tools we have in the boot but to no success. And the day was running into the evening, here we are around where no building is seen but long trees π³ and bushes that made fear π¨ to start setting in. What should we do was the next question?
We decided to start stopping some vehicles π by waving our hands down, but many does not want to stop because of time and few that stopped did not have what we needed. Towing vehicles are not even in sight around this desert π΅ area. And the evening was coming down so fast into becoming dark as I began to pray π with worries on the faces of everyone. Suddenly a bigger mini bus π just stopped in front of our vehicle and the driver walked towards us asking what happened. After we narrated the story the man a missionary told us that the place we were is a very bad spot. That he will help us by towing the vehicle to the nearest town where we can see a Vulcanizer. Oh my God I shouted,
We all quickly entered the mans bus after he brought a rope we knotted to our car. And he drove us to the the next town that was about an hour. We thanked him so much because he was indeed a God sent. And there we looked for a Vulcanizer to check the tyre. It also turned out he did not have tool to remove this said nut or bolt. We then decided to slash the nuts with Welders blade to be able to change the tyre. And by this time, it was almost 8:00 π pm in the evening. What a journey I acclaimed! The devil πΏ indeed failed.
So we ended up staying the night on the road , although with people everywhere because Agbo is a place many drivers parks for the night especially the big lorries π that travels to the north. It was indeed a busy place with foods , drinks and music πΆ. But lived on bread to avoid complications especially because of the children. This helped boost our morale but the children were very uncomfortable with this kind of happenings
However, our tyre was fixed with the purchase of new bolts. And once it was 6:00 am in the next morning, we were set to start moving slowly towards day light for Onisha.
And the journey estimated for 10 hours entered into second day due to this horrible experience. We ended up getting to the village finally at about 8:00am due to early morning traffic of Head Bridge π Onisha.
This indeed was not a funny journey. A kind of journey I will not want to repeat because anything could have to us if not for God. A journey we anticipated so much fun π€© on turned south. We were all anxious through the journey especially where the tyre trouble stated. Anxiety through this journey is what we all encountered. And because its a trip to the village for a marriage ceremony we wanted to just be there for our family.
