My 'broke' experiences

Being Broke

We all have experienced being broke at one time or the other, yet there are some things that we just can't keep from ourselves. What is that thing that no matter how broke we are, we'll always go ahead to buy it? This does not include necessary bills we need to pay, just pleasure spendings that being broke can't keep us from. Please share with us.

Before really diving into the topic, I want to make this disclaimer: I filed my verification post in the HL discord server a few minutes ago, but still wanted to already participate in this challenge as I really like the topic. It's perfectly fine if I can't win, I just wanted to engage about the topic. So if this isn't allowed for some reason, please tell me and I'll await my verification before posting another post in the theme of the challenges.

Being broke

So far I never really experienced being broke if I'm honest. So I'll look at the theme a bit more in the context of my hive wallet, as I kind of experience being broke here rather often compared to my 'real life'. Maybe it seems strange to a lot of people but I see my Hive wallet still as something seperate of my fiat. I don't want to expand too much in this post as how I got involved into Hive and how I treat my financials. But I want to explain the following: When I started in crypto, I didn't want to invest fiat into it as I was kind of sceptical towards it. After some months I transferred money from a non-blockchain game to hive and together with writing Hive articles, I started to further discover Hive and its numerous side projects. As of today I still didn't invest any of my own fiat, I just try to grow from zero to... I think this intro was necessary to understand my 'broke experiences' which will follow.

So as stated I'll just focus on my 'Hive brokeness' and where I want to spend my liquid funds on which I don't have. To be honest it changes quite often what I really want to buy. Usually it is something involved with a project I want to invest in at the particular moment. Since a couple of months, it is WRESTLING ORGANIZATION ONLINE of @wrestorgonline. I don't wan't to shill the project too much so I'll keep it rather short here. It's an upcoming wrestling themed game on the Hive blockchain. For a couple of months, I am trying to get my hands on more Gold Belt cards, comparable to Splinterlands gold foil cards but more rare.

As I said I don't want to create here a whole shill-post, so I'll try to explain more the context and talk less about the project itself. As I see my Hive wallet as a wallet 'for fun', I always find it hard to not spend any liquid hive / hbd. So in some way, I'm always 'broke' as i can't spend more. When I'm broke and I really want to spend more, I check if I have some random tokens laying around which I can liquidate. Another side-effect of having no liquid funds, is that I find motivation again to be more active on Hive. Actually today was such a day. I started checking out different communities to find one in which I wanted to start blogging and thought about this one, which I already knew for a couple of months but never really engaged much with.

So in a certain way, you could state that 'being broke' for me resulted in starting my engagement with the Hive Learning community!

I hope you guys found it informative and I truely wish that you guys could find the motivation to be (more) active aswell on Hive when you are broke so you could gather some funds to spend on whatever you want / like / have to!

Thanks for reading! Feel free to tell me in the comments your favourite spending on hive even when you're broke.
