W61E3: I was beaten and drenched by heavy down pour!

Greetings everyone, welcome to hive learner's featured contest of the week. It's a good time to share this experience of being beaten by the rain. It is what every one of us experienced in life once or twice. In those days when we were small, for me to be drenched in the rain was the sweetest moment of that time. Infact, there are some days we will deliberately play, walk and wash in the heavy rain, not only this, we will look for stagnant raining water to jump in. It was fun, in our days. When we want to go for an important occasion, we avoid rain, I will personally pray for rain not to fall.

To say, I have been beaten by rain on several occasions, it could be in school, church, farm, market, office and otherwise. I will share the one that happened just of recent, that has stayed in my mind until today. I can't forget that day, it was over raining, until vehicles couldn't move anymore. People and vehicles were stocked at a place over 4 hours. Due to the heavy pour, raining water filled everywhere.

On my way returning home!

On that fateful day, I went to visit my Aunty, I stayed with her for many hours talking and having fun with her children, suddenly, the atmosphere changed, heavy wind blew to and fro, I tidied up my things and moved. Reaching the main road, I boarded a tricycle that will take me to the plaza, rain started drizzling while on the tricycle. Reaching the plaza, I rushed to enter another tricycle that will take me home. Inside the tricycle, heavy rain and wind came at the same time, almost throwing the tricycle off the road, I was drenched and beaten by the rain, the driver finds a way to pack. Hoping that the rain will subside, we stayed over 4 hours waiting for the rain to finish its work. The road was flooded with raining water.

After waiting for a while, my driver told me that he won't go again, I didn't have any alternative than to start trekking in the rain and flood. I was soaked and scared if water will swallow me. Many had in injuries, loss of goods and humans, people's houses were soaked and destroyed due to this heavy down pour.

It was as if God's anger was released upon the earth. Lightening and thunderstorms blew, since that time I feared God, the more.

Since I was born, I have never been beaten by rain like that. I became scared and shaken. That day I felt like flying home, but there were no feathers that could do the work. People screamed for God's Mercy.

It was a terrible experience, I trekked home that day. Many called their loved ones asking how they were coping with the down pour.

These are the fruit trees that rain destroyed in our compound thst day. It almost killed children who were under the fruit tree picking mangos, and avocado pears.
