Anatomically, our dad gave some amount of chromosomes while our mother who has the egg (ovum) waited patiently for the swimmer to reach it.
I think this is the right time to clear this African belief
In some African (mainly Nigeria), where there are only female children and no male, the father always complain to the mother to give him a male child. This complaints goes on for countless of days, months and even years until a male is born but if a male is not born, then the risk of a divorce is high.
Now, it is like this, when you (the male) release the sperm into the female, the fastest swimmer fertilizes the egg. These released sperm cells goes through many challenges, both attack from the white blood cells thinking it's a harmful invading microbe and from other defence mechanism of the body.
It is not the fault of the anyone that you are giving birth to a female regularly but there is a chance where you can decide the gender of your child. This is what you should discuss together as a couple, then go see a gynaecologist to assist.
That being settled, let's dig into todays context.
There are some attributes that are gotten from our father and mother. Though some of these characters are obvious in early childhood, while some are not obvious until maturity kicks in.
I on the other hand have acquired some attributes from both my parents.
THE ATTRIBUTES I ACQUIRED FROM MOM.
I always love being close to my mom and she always share her stories with me.
Though I do not like all the stories she has to tell, I had t listen to gain more experience.
One thing I have come to notice about my mom is that sh is highly manipulative (in the positive way) in other to get what she wants. She don't care who needs to go, who she needs to use or what will happen afterwards, she always have her way. Another thing I like about her is that she puts her family first.
This is the attribute I acquire from her and this attribute was fully woken when I was betrayed by a friend.
Mine became worst as I am able to manipulate the truth. I do not know how to lie, I never learnt it and will never learn it but I know how to say the truth, manipulate it and make it work for me without saying any lie. It's just like playing mind games.
Another thing I learnt from my mom is never to trust anyone.
As a manipulator, why will you even trust?
No matter who the person may be, I do not trust them ever and this has helped me greatly. The only people I have a degree of trust for is my family, except them, I see everyone as a tool who will injure me if I do not properly use them.
THE ATTRIBUTES LEARNT FROM DAD.
Though my dad was not always around, I got two things from him and this is the greatest I have every gotten in life.
The first is the ability to remain calm in any situation. Even though somebody is dieing, I know how to maintain my composure and do what I need to do. My facial expressions are always straight without any trace of fear or weakness.
Another thing I got from Dad is the spirit of being motivated in other to achieve what I need.
If I need something, all other things comes next until I accomplish the goal i set. Sometimes his attributes can b very tiring but well, i think it is worth it because it has helped me greatly throughout my journey in life.
All these are things I always enjoy. Though I inherited some negative attributes, these are the ones I really love and has helped me throughout my journey of life.
Come to think of it, I will love to pass these attributes down to the next generation that comes from me because the world is a really a wicked place to be in, however, these attributes will help them, just as it helped me to navigate through.
The only side effects is that I do not have friends, I just have people who accomplish things for me.
