My Drenched Experience

Hello friends, happy weekend

Rain is condensed water falling from the cloud. It's a natural phenomenon and doesn't needs man's permission to fall, it falls as it pleases in its season. Rain is of great importance to the earth and we can't survive without it's fallings.

Presently in my state of residence, there hasn't been frequency rain so the weather is very hot which is making the environment very uncomfortable for everyone. And apart from the hot weather, without rain there won't be agricultural yields which can lead to scarcity of food for both Man and animals. So that means rain is very important for our survival.

While growing up, getting drenched in the rain was fun especially when there are no adults at home. We would play happily in the rain, then after that quickly wear cardigans so as not to catch cold to deceive our parents when they are back home, but on the long run they will eventually know when we start squeezing and later fall sick.

But now as an adult, we do our possible best not to be beaten by the rain. Presently, I love when rain start falling at night around 10pm till midnight or very early in the morning, so as to have sound sleep and have less water logged road

My Drenched Experience

On a fateful Saturday, a friend of mine was getting married in another state of my country which was just 2hours 30mins drive, so I'm part of her maid of honor with three other friends of mine. The four of us dressed elegantly, agreed on a meeting point then drove down to the venue for the occasion. The church service in the morning went smoothly with the sun shining brightly in the sky with no sign of rain at all.

Getting to the reception hall, it was an AC fitted hall fully decorated with different lightening with a wonderful live band on standby. We all marveled at what we saw in the hall and concluded within us that we are going to have a nice party, so we careless about what's happening outside, we never knew the cloud was getting dark.

Less than one hour to the event we heard sound of thunder, it was then we knew that it's about to rain. So we aren't bothered cause we are inside the hall and there was no obstruction whatsoever. Then it starts to rain, it rained heavily that we assumed that in couple of minutes it will stop and we would be able to drive back home.

But we were wrong, the heavy rain refused to stop and none of us can drive in it, but some people that have the courage to drive in it left us behind. So we were struck under the heavy downpour, so we waited for it's heaviness to reduce before we move.

We finally left the hall around 6pm when the heaviness of the downpour reduces, so driving back home was getting late. When we got back to our state of residence, the rain just got started over there. I was the first to drop from the car, I quickly took a commercial motorcycle going to my area, immediately I sat on bike and it moved this heavy rain started again.

I was drenched from head to toe with the souvenir that I collected from the event because there was no shade to hid and moreso it was getting late, so I had no choice than to keep going.

The rain beat me mercilessly untill I reached my house, that was the first time rain will beat me on bike. It was as if I'm been stoned with ice, the rain water was just hitting me anyhow🤣, thankfully I went out with a water resistant bag or else my phone would had been soaked also. When I got home I boiled water, had a hot bath then drank hot tea. My other friends also had the same experience except the lady that drove. Whenever I remember this drenched experience I laughed and also pity myself.

Thanks for reading and Happy weekend
