Students ability should not be determined by exams, so many people read to pass without knowing what the course is all about, students crams, burn candles just for the fear of failure or what will their parents say, so many students always read and pass in other to satisfy their parent and graduate with their course mates.
In my opinion, the examination does not test our ability as a student, some people pass the examination with different strategies, some people bribe their way out of failure and some people cheat in the examination hall just to have a better grade but their ability to defend themselves is very low.
Bribery and corruption never allow most people to know the best again, people with low IQ tend to have the best connections in the country, and most people will see working in a big firm can never defend the result they are holding but because they have a strong connection then they are employed into the system and this is one of the problems we are facing in the country
Someone who is very intelligent and knows what they are doing ends up being a taxi driver or a motorcyclist in the country, it is very difficult to employ people with good intellect because they are afraid of what they carry.
Some years back my brother went for an interview and he did well but at the end of the interview he was told that his certificate was too good and they could not employ him unless he had an OND (Ordinary National Diploma) certificate, how is that possible for someone who is a degree holder, he felt disappointed and left the place, we later heard that the manager of that company was an HND holder and graduated with lower grade, so it is very difficult for him to employ someone who will be superior to him, he was in the company through the connection he had and he wouldn't employ anyone with B.sc certificate.
Examination is not the best way to test a student's ability, what is wrong with a one-on-one dialogue? This can make a student more serious and value education, the fear of facing the audience and never wanting to be embarrassed will make most students add more seriousness to education, but talking about examinations anyone can read to pass and forget what they read after the examination.

I was online last night and I stumbled on a post where the lecturer failed all his students' assignments, I read through because I wished to know what the problem was, and the man explained that all the students used AI for the assignment, I think AI should be a support in other to give ideas and not to write the whole assignment, technology is now making us lazy in this generation, everything is now been done by AI and we are losing interest in developing our knowledge.
We can't say examinations should be eradicated in the educational system but there should be other ways of testing students' abilities not only by writing examinations, the educational system can be better again if we don't indulge too much of technology.
