One of the hardest things I did this year was going for my makeup upgrade, I did not know that this would take a toll on me, so I made this suggestion and I worked towards achieving the goal.
Upgrade as it implies is the ability to learn more in your profession, I am a make-up artist and I have been working for the past year and some months, I always admired learning more and knowing more about makeup, makeup is never a day job and not only depends on rubbing foundations and powder, learning make-up means you are ready to work on any type of faces and shapes, we all know that our head shapes are not the same, you need to learn and how to work on anybody who visits you for makeup.
I decided to take a few months to do this and immediately I contacted one of the best fashion schools in the city, this school comprised of hairdressing, fashion designers and make-up, I registered and I was interviewed, after that I got admitted into the school and I did the necessary registration by paying some money and started class, I never knew it would be stressful as hell.
The welcoming ceremony was done and we did one week of orientation telling us the dos and don't of the school, among the rules were the resuming time and closing time, no room for absence, and the lists of the products we are to buy, at this stage, I was already thinking of how to back out because the rules are too much for me, how will I cope in a place with maximum security like this, there will always be a signed pass if you want to get things outside, without this pass you can never go out from the gate, I wasn't informed about all these rules before I register for the upgrade. It is so demanding.
I started this training about a month ago and I saw improvement in my work, it was as if I was still a learner then, I have been taught different methods of drawing brows and highlighting, and also learned about different types of eyeshadow though I know most of this things but I have been introduced to some advance products than will always bring out the beauty of my work, so I can proudly say the stress really worth it and I am happy about the improvement.
I haven't finished the training but I am happy about my progress, I have used all my savings to get products, even withdrew my savings on Hive to support my dream, we all know that make-up products are expensive but this present condition is worse, things are now doubled, the only thing I escaped from buying was my brushes because I am using a good product for that, the rest is good as well but I need to improve my skill by getting the more superb ones.
At this point, I do not think I regret doing that but the first week showed me signs of having a second thought about what I was about to venture into because no support from anyone, all I did was to try and improve my skill this year so that I will not be rotating on a circle.
It is always good to learn more if you have a skill, we can not depend on the ones we were taught from the start, getting more knowledge from other people and doing research about your skill improves your ability and your thinking knowledge, this year has been a successful one despite the challenges we are facing in the country but I did not allow that to set me back, I am happy I make a move about making my dream comes through.
This is one of the biggest things I have achieved this year and it is so exhausting because I have to keep to time and always spend a huge amount of transport fare every day but that doesn't weigh me down and it will not, I will be ending the training by December.
