After I saw the topic, I rushed down to Google to check if truly the borders are open because you never can tell if the HL moderators are just giving us a hint that it is open, and for someone like me whose dream is to travel at least 50 countries in the world, then my dream just hit a jump start button but it was just another wild imagination that I pray won't kill me.
One thing I'm sure of is that if this stuff ever happens, Nigeria's population will reduce by 90%, because we are tired of being in this country and it definitely not only Nigeria but lots of Africa countries and I hope some countries are ready to be overpopulation because that is the first disadvantage that comes with this kind of decision and not just in the city. The high influx of people from a lot of countries to a few countries will cause overpopulation in some specific countries like the UK, USA, and others.
Let's talk about crime, what do you think will happen with crime in the world? The level of crime will definitely triple and just because I said crime doesn't mean the people who are migrating to another country will be the ones involves in violence or stealing and other crimes but the citizens of the country might retaliate because of the hate for other tribes and races.
I won't be surprised even if war breaks out in the process where people are fighting to prevent intruders in their land.
Let's not forget about the increase in death which might not be caused by gun violence but due to serious cold in some countries.
There will reduction in the availability of jobs, and homes and even the infrastructure won't be enough anymore. Workers salaries will fall because if you are not willing to do a job for a certain amount, someone is ready to do it for a lesser amount. The economy of some country will fall below normal.
One of the advantages is more money for the government because the more the population, the more the tax. Well for those that can fit in and understand the system then good life is assured for them. For the countries that depend mostly on importation, the cost of goods will reduce in their country and there will be a lot of opportunities for people to get good education.
There will be good chances of getting good treatment if someone is diagonised with some serious illness. The one certainty is that even if this happens not all people benefit from it.
Truth be told, I can't think of more advantage compared to the disadvantages that come with this type of a decision, because just like my forefathers will say, okele gbigbe pele suru, o san ju wura ati fadaka lo which mean the food you eat with happiness and peace of mind even when it has no fish or meat is better than the one you eat with a lot of luxury but in pain
