As if I had some super powers

This month I have decided to participate in #hiveblopomo. To complete the challenge it is required to publish a post everyday. Coming up with a topic everyday isn’t easy all the time. To avoid the problem, I had already decided to take part in the hive-learners featured contest this weekend. When I read of the topic, I had to dig deeper into my memory to remind of an incident when I did some silly act. Actually, I have been a serious and cautious soul since my childhood. While my cousins tell a lot of their mischievous activities as child, my name is not present in their group. Lol. Some of them say that I have got an old soul in the young body.

Well, no matter how cautious and sober we are, we do behave foolishly at times. Luckily, I reminded of the one fir today’s blog. I never understood in what state of mind I behaved the way I did. It was like I had lost senses for a while as if I was detached from the reality.

There is a fiction character , Dr. Jean Grey in the movie X-Men. She has super powers with which she can control the objects in her surroundings. She can stop or move anything in any direction without touching them.

This is the story of the time when I was a college student. It means I was not a child but a girl in her mid teens. It so happened that I was crossing a service road. When I was right in the middle of the road, I saw a rickshaw coming in high speed and was quite near to me. A sensible act would be to run faster and escape any accident, but what I did was quite insensible. My feet just stopped moving and I stood still with my hand opened as if I would stop the coming vehicle with some super power.

Of course, I had no power to stop anything. Thankfully, the driver pushed the brakes at the right time and the vehicle merely touched me. My foot got a very mild injury.

It felt like my brain ceased to work for a while. Even after being touched by the vehicle I didn’t move but kept standing there for a few more seconds until I heard the voice of a lady from a nearby car who was rebuking me for not moving. I came back to reality and had a glance at the rickshaw driver. He was waiting me to move so that he might go.

As soon as my brain and body were started coordinating, I walked towards the van where my friends were waiting for me. They asked what had happened to me. I had no explanation at all. I just felt embarrassed and said, “Nothing".

Has anyone of you ever gone through such an experience that made you act silly?
