Taking Off Without Fuel

If there is one thing I have become used to is having my coffee in the morning. A hot cup of coffee in the morning, helps me have a great day. I have met lots of people and I must say that the majority of them prefer having their coffee in the morning. Most people tend to take it immediately they are out of bed while some would take it immediately they get to work, either way, having your coffee in the morning is delightful.

I have become accustomed to the daily routine and honestly, I wouldn’t want to trade the feeling I get from doing this morning ritual of having my cup of coffee first to any other thing. Most times, I would just stare out of the window as I sip my coffee while sometimes I would try to put my daily activities in order as I sip my coffee. Well I go to bed early and also I am an early riser, so I think my coffee has been my morning start up.

But then, I have had days where I had missed my early morning coffee. The first time this happened, the ordeal wasn’t a good one for me. I am someone who loves traveling but I have never been on many vacations or travel journeys before. I love the experience of going somewhere new and exploring new things. The only thing I find stressful with traveling is packing my luggage. I do not like packing my luggage at all.

A few times when I had to travel from home, I had my mom help me with packing, but this time she wasn’t around to help me so I knew I had to do it on my own. The biggest issue with packing is I am sometimes indecisive and need someone to help me with my options. So I had a flight for the next morning and it was the evening to the next day of my flight and I had not packed yet.

Well, I had to spend the night packing which took me a lot of time. Even though I spent the whole night packing my box, which made me go to bed very late, I still hadn’t finished packing, I thought I would be up so early and would do the rest before I got to the airport. Turns out I woke up late, good thing my friend had to even wake me up with a call to remind me I had an early morning flight.

I felt so disorganized, that I had to run in for a bath and do a quick packing of the remaining things I needed. I had to book a ride to take me to the airport. I was already seated in the cab when I felt uneasy. I kept wondering if maybe I forgot something valuable like my charger but when I looked into my waist bag, my charger was there. It was when I stopped to get water that I realized that I had missed my early morning coffee.

I was so drowsy, I felt like my body was weak and I was having a headache. When my flight was called and we had to start going, I was so sluggish. Getting to my seat, I was having motion sickness when the flight started which had never happened to me. It wasn’t my first time flying so I knew it was due to missing my coffee and I felt like I was going to mess up myself by vomiting. I kept trying to keep myself busy by staring out of my window but it wasn’t working, I was having a terrible and uncomfortable flight experience. It was like taking off without fuel, in this situation the fuel is my coffee.

When we finally landed, I was super grateful that I didn’t mess up myself. Still, I was super sluggish and I couldn’t wait to get to my destination. It was a tough time for me. I had already told my friend what I was going through and immediately I got to my destination, he was kind enough to have prepared a cup of coffee for me and a meal alongside cause I was super hungry already.

I felt better afterward and I try not to miss my early morning coffee no matter how much in a hurry I am for an event or even a travel. That was my worst travel experience. A journey without my early morning coffee and I wouldn’t want to experience it again.
