Catching Up Over Coffee
Hello, lovely people of the Hive blockchain and Cinnamon Cup Coffee community! I couldn't wait to tell you all about my recent visit to H.J. Aris Café. So much so, that I already wrote and posted this blog in my dream last night, and then woke up to realise it was a dream. Hahaha. Anyway, as the weather in London starts to warm up, catching up with an old friend over a cup of coffee seemed like the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon. Especially when said friend is leaving London for good in a few weeks.
Nestled in a charming corner of the city, H.J. Aris Café exudes an inviting ambiance with its cozy interior and vintage decor. As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, which instantly lifted my spirits. The friendly staff welcomed us with warm smiles, making us feel right at home. I particularly dig this sort of place. It reminded me of when I used to trade in vintage and antique stuff. I used to buy them at action and resell them at a premium. Pretty lucrative, but sometimes frustrating.
The menu at H.J. Aris Café offers a delightful selection of coffee and tea options, as well as a range of scrumptious treats. My friend indulged in their signature cappuccino, which was expertly crafted and "had just the right balance of rich coffee and frothy milk" (apparently). I, on the other hand, and as expected, had a black americano.
As we sipped our coffees, my friend and I caught up on each other's lives. It had been ages since we last met, and H.J. Aris Café provided us with the perfect setting to reminisce and share stories. She is a artist - a painter, so we talked about art, but also current events and our plans for the near future. The cozy seating and soft background music created a relaxed atmosphere, allowing us to chat away for hours without feeling rushed.
H.J. Aris Café is also a shop by the way. All the antic decor was for sale. If one wanted to buy a table, lamp, painting or R2-D2, most items have a price tag on them. I thought that was quite cool. We didn't buy anything of such though aha.
Before we knew it, the afternoon had flown by, and it was time to bid farewell to H.J. Aris Café. As we left, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the wonderful time we had spent there. For some reason, we were actually the only ones there at the time, with the exception of some people that walked in to look at the vintage and antique stuff. We were the only ones having coffee there. It almost felt like our own private space.
Oh yea, the café is located in Dalston, East London, a very vibrant part of the city. There are some other equally interesting coffee shops in the vicinity, including one that's also a music cafe where artists, mostly indie and underground, perform for free. I think you have to book a space in that place though since it tends to get very busy.
Overall, I rate H.J. Aris Café a solid 9/10! 10/10 for atmosphere and 8/10 for the coffee. It goes without saying that I highly recommend the place for coffee lovers and aficionados of everything vintage and antique.
Peace & Love,
Adé
