incollage_save.jpeg

This is my contribution to #fungifriday by @ewkaw, happy to be able to participate again with all of you.

OK everyone, December is the month when the rainy season occurs in Indonesia. Usually the rainy season will continue until the end of January. So that more mushrooms will grow and we will find them.

However, unfortunately rain is not always good for some types of mushrooms, because if it rains frequently the mushrooms will easily wither and become damaged.

Yesterday, Thursday 7 December 2024, we went hunting with several hive friends to look for mushrooms in oil palm plantations, as a result we found many types of mushrooms, and some of them were very unique and rare.

This time I will share four types of beautiful mushrooms for all of you, let's execute them one by one!

Mycena rosella

The first is a species of fungus which is included in the Basidiomycota division, and was described and given the name Asia by Paul Kummer in 1871. This fungus has white stems and brownish leaves.

However, it has beautiful and attractive colors. On the inside of this mushroom you can see small holes like pores.

Steccherinum

Next up is a widespread genus of toothed scale fungus in the Steccherinaceae family. This fungus is generally known as coral reef fungus or sea rumout fungus.

At first glance, this mushroom looks a lot like a pin.

The sexual reproductive structure is a collection of loose ascospores surrounded by a cup-shaped exciple located on a small stalk, looking like a tailor (called mazaedium), hence the name pin lichen. Members of the genus are also called needle mosses.
