incollage_save.jpeg

This is my contribution to #fungifriday by @ewkaw.

Today the drizzle still wets the shady leaves, the rain seems to understand that these plants miss the drops. Wet soil and rotting wood make mushrooms excited, they grow abundantly everywhere, water is one of the most important things for life, as well as for the growth of mushrooms.

This time I want to share several types and beauty of mushrooms that I found yesterday. Even though some of these mushrooms have the same type and species, they always show different charms with their shapes and colors.

Schizophyllum Commune

The first fungus is the serrated fungus or has the scientific name "Schizophyllum Commune" which is a species of fungus in the genus Schizophyllum.

This fungus resembles a wave fan from a dense coral reef. It has teeth that vary in shape from creamy yellow to pale white.

This mushroom has different colors, this depends on the age of the mushroom and the conditions where it grows.

Mushrooms that are still young and have sufficient light and water content will look whiter and fresher.

Meanwhile, mushrooms that are older and lack water will look yellowish or brown like they are wilting. And this mushroom is edible and has an aroma and texture like chewing meat.

And these mushrooms have different shapes and ways of growing. Some have roots attached to the log, while others grow by attaching to the entire log.

Crepidotus Mollis

The second mushroom is “Crepidotus Mollis, this mushroom is commonly known as shucked oyster, soft slipper, jelly crep, or flabby crepidotus.
