#fungifriday 02/02/2024 - Check out the beautiful Mushrooms in February.

This is my contribution to the #FungiFriday challenge by @ewkaw and is a mushroom post every Friday.

Hello friends, mushroom hunters, mushroom lovers and community members all. Back again in the #fungifriday post with me here @big.whale in the content about mushrooms. Well, let's go straight to the main post we will discuss about mushrooms.

This morning around 10 am I traveled to one of the forests near the road and people's housing, I hunted and looked for mushroom plants there. I was amazed by the mushrooms shared by friends in this community which were very good and cool, therefore I tried to find mushrooms that I also thought were good enough for me to share here. Today I tried to find mushrooms that grow on dead or rotten wood trunks or trees.

Well friends, here I have prepared two types of mushrooms that I found today. Let's just see some pictures of the mushrooms that I found here.

  • Pycnoporus sanguineus

grows on old wood and is orange or red in color. usually grows on dead hardwood. It grows in the form of a thin dry cone with lateral attachments to its substrate, or sometimes a very short stipe. I found this mushroom in several conditions, some are still young fresh, some are old dry mushrooms and their orange faded color collapses.

DivisionBasidiomycota
ClassAgaricomycetes
OrderPoliporale

GenusPiknoporus
SpeciesP. sanguinus

Well friends, some of the pictures above are the first types of mushrooms that I found from my hunt this morning, mushrooms with colors so bright that I can easily find them. I really like mushrooms with this bright orange color, it can be seen from its strong texture, this mushroom is not easy to die and is quite resistant to hot weather, although it will die too if it has been too hot and dry for too long.

Then later I will also show the type of mushroom in the second discovery from today's hunt.

Schizophyllum commune or gerigit mushroom is a species of mushroom in the genus Schizophyllum. This mushroom resembles a wave fan from a dense coral reef. It has a fan-shaped and coral-like bite that is generally white or also called silver mushroom, it grows on dead logs. It grows in large numbers. I found it on a dead piece of wood or a mango tree.
