Stopping a pandemic requires using all the tools available. Vaccines work with our immune system so thay our body will be ready to fight the virus if we are exposed. Getting vaccinated is one of many steps you can take to protect ourself and others from COVID-19. Protection from COVID-19 is critically important because for some people, COVID-19 can cause severe illness or death.

Vaccination for COVID-19 is voluntary. However, it is advisable to receive the complete schedule of COVID-19 vaccine for protecting oneself against this disease and also to limit the spread of this disease to the close contacts including family members, friends, relatives and co-workers.

Vaccines trigger our immune response to recognize and fight disease-causing organisms. COVID-19 vaccines help our bodies develop immunity to the virus that causes COVID-19 without us having to get the illness. Currently, Government have allowed two types of Vacine

Covaxin is an inactivated vaccine which means that it is made up of killed coronaviruses, making it safe to be injected into the body.

Covidshield vaccine is made from a weakened version of a common cold virus (known as an adenovirus) from chimpanzees. It has been modified to look more like coronavirus - although it can't cause illness. When the vaccine is injected into a patient, it prompts the immune system to start making antibodies and primes it to attack any coronavirus infection.

Myths related with Covid Vacacine in Rural India.

Rural people have made many perception regarding the vaccination. They made their own perception and understanding about the vaccine.

Firstly, many rural.people believe, that taking a Covid dose will deteriorate their health condition.
However they must understand, that the vacacine has certain side effects. The most common side effects following COVID-19 vaccines are fatigue, a fever, headaches, body aches, chills, nausea, diarrhea, and pain at the site of injection. These Side effects are very common and only affect your ability to do daily activities, but they should go away in a few days.

Secondally, they will lose their natural immunity post vaccination.
It typically takes two weeks after vaccination for the body to build protection (immunity) against the virus that causes COVID-19.

Thirdly, they easily get infected with covid after first dose.
The fact is even if anyone test positive for COVID-19 after receiving the first dose of vaccine,(because of any other reason) they should reschedule their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine once the isolation period i.e 15 days is completed.

It is not that the doses of Covid vaccine will make one immortal . As per WHO, "fully vaccinated individuals test positive for coronavirus are possible, but have so far been rare".
A vaccinated individual should keep taking precautions in public places or when they are with unvaccinated people from more than one household.

As per the new rules, those who have been infected by Covid-19 can take their vaccines three months after the recovery. So I still have my time left to take my first doses. And I am taking all mandatory precautions. Being a responsible citizen, it is our duty to spread as much awareness as possible to fight the pandemic. Breaking the myths among the rural people is important. They are ignorant and illiterate and I am doing my best to raise all kind of awareness. Post my covid recovery, I have already motivated 7 people about covid vaccination. And it helped. It is not only 7, by educating them I made their family members aware too. Many people have already registered themselves for vaccination, and waiting for their call.

Rural India is an important part of Indian economy, and we must make all possible effort to create all kind of awareness about Covid virus and Covid Vaccination to save our economy.

Peace
