I like sticks! I definitely like 'em!
BUT there are sticks and there are sticks... and - sadly - it ain't straightforward to get Hyumis to tell one from the other.
This state of affairs ought not to continue!
Here therefore is a Flamin' attempt to shed some light on this very important matter!
OK Then:
Let's take a stick which I have chased and tackled a good many times already on the current walk with my Hyumi, Barge. It's been thrown and I have fetched - over and over and over again. I've been carrying this particular stick over hill and dale and it's like we've bonded.
Consider that:
- I waited damn long for a good stick on the barren first bit of the walk. Even though we're in the woods now I don't care that there are plenty of other sticks around
- I've now chewed the stick down to almost half its length while you sat smoking
- I've carried it a long long way. The stick is infused with all the energy of play and fun that I have experienced today.
Therefore:
When you throw it for me again and it gets lodged in the branches of a tree, I don't wanna simply give it up for another if I can help it!
Barge, me ol' Hyumi Homie - ever wrapped around one of my four fingers - duly obliges and dislodges it from the tree branches by throwing another stick at it.
Woofin' ACE it up in the woods willya, I'm stickin' around!
