Argha Noah and the Ark of Noah

Nightmares on Wax song had me questioning.

I listen to SOMA.fm and SiriusXM's Chill. One of the artists that I really like is Nightmares on Wax. Only a few of their songs get played, but one always sticks out.

The opening words (and only words in the song) are the following.

The Waters of Chaos were a blessing in fact, which brought new life. Each year, when the waters of the flood would recede, leaving of course the fresh minerals and nutrients in the waters which would then cause the food to grow and spring would be a beautiful time in egypt, because of the Waters of Chaos. They celebrated the coming of the Waters of Chaos bringing the new life, they call that celebration in Egypt the Argha Noah. not the "Ark of Noah", but Argha Noah.

Now, my initial reaction to hearing this was someone completely misunderstood things and tried to squeeze things together. I am no expert on Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic, but I have a feeling that words do not get muddle into the English like what is suggested.

There is a longer version of Argha Noah story on Origins of Flood Stories by Justin Taylor, ORDM., OCP., DM. But, apparently the quote above and what was written by Taylor is probably from theosophist Jordan Maxwell (his real name is Russell Pine). Jordan Maxwell has done work with Dan Brown, the guy who wrote the Da Vinci Code, a work of fictions loosely based on rumors and actual events.

The blurb I found on Russel Pine and "Argha Noah" states that he took his pseudonym from one of the founder of Theosophy, H.P. Blavatsky, books. And he takes his idea from her book Isis Unveiled: A Master-Key to the Mysteries of Ancient and Modern Science and Theology. Russel Pine is a follower of Theosophy, which I won't even bother following that rabbit trail down.

Frankly, when you find a source from a fringe person with some weird ideas, you might want to double check the things. When another fringe person takes ideas from the first fringe person and makes new ideas, well...that's how seeds of conspiracies are created and one should walk lightly unless your goal is to make uninformed people question reality. wink wink [that's my shtick]

Anyway, the blurb continues on to point out that...

The Hebrew word for ark is Tevah תֵּבָה (Ha-Tevahis used throughout the text in question: e.i. Genesis 6:14) and the ancient Hebrews would not have used the phrase "Argha". The Hebrew word for Noah is "Noha" pronounced with a guttural "H".

That's where I connected with the this unknown Answers.com reply. I already knew that there were flood stories from all over the world. And if the flood stories were about an annual event, it would be told as an annual event.

It was a great tragedy that happened every year. This great flood would come and wash away the Egyptian world.

And frankly, if they knew this happened every year (it still happens every year), then why would they build in the flood zone? They don't. They put the fields in the flood zone in order to water them.

I am not a follower of Theosophy, Russel Pine (aka Jordan Maxwell) or whoever is Justin Taylor, but it would seem that there wasn't a lot of thinking going on when they came up with their theories. From brief reading, it would seem as if H.P. Blavatsky couldn't come up with her own ideas, because it was said that she plagiarized others for the Isis Unveiled book. She died before the 1900s, so she might not know of the other flood stories. But, Russel Pine (aka "The Godfather of Secret Societies") was born in the 1940s, so he should have some knowledge of these stories. As far as "Ordained Metaphysical Minister, Ordained Philosopher, and Ordained Clergy Person with multiple universal organizations that recognize the oneness of all existence" Justin Taylor goes, he might want to check his sources and limit to whom he preaches.

Anyway, enjoy the music.
