Hey all!

In about 48 hours, the first art contest made by Orphan_Crypto will come to an end. The theme is about "Orphans" and the only rule that counts is that there should be some type of stairs inside the artwork.

For this artwork, I wanted to create something darkish, as we often have no idea how orphans feel if our parents are still alive. Especially younger kids, as they don't know how to handle things. And even when they grow up, they might always be thinking or being reminded about "that time". I also wanted to embed vibrant colors, as the future might look bright without them realizing it at the time.

And for every hardship that we encounter, one step at a time... The stairway in this artwork resembles hardship, endurance, and challenges. In combination with the shadows of the two children, it hints that they just started their journey.

I thought of adding "Get well soon" to one of the black balloons. The reason why I didn't give color to the balloons because I wanted to make it clear those weren't party balloons, but would still resemble something that was comforting.

I can only imagine the questions that would pop up in these kids their heads.
Accepting a loss, accepting a new home, accepting a new life, without knowing that they will be accepted just like their parents accepted them.
