Shooting with one light + simple way of adding effects.
Hello HIVE guys.
In this post, I want to share with you my latest shots, which were made in a home environment with one light.
The concept is inspired by the 60's aesthetic and the makeup was done by my friend - makeup artist Arina Miteva. Her main inspiration were the 1960s fashion icons Twiggy and Brigitte Bardot. Graphic eyeliner, exaggerated false eyelashes, and vivid pink color are the key features of this makeup look.
Since it's a home project, we did this with very little investment, meaning basic lighting scheme and free Starbucks to treat our model.
Using colourful tissue paper from the local flower shop, I created 2 different effects. The final visual depends on the distance between the tissue and your camera. The picture will be blurry when the tissue is really close to the camera lens, and sharp when it's close to the model's face. Just as you see it in the examples below.
About the light: I used a simple Studio Flash 300WS + Softbox 90x60 which was place it one meter from the model and about half a meter above it. It was also tilted downward about 30 degree.
The fact that room was not that large and paint in white and also the floor is really bright and reflective, helped a lot to fill the shadow and to get the perfect contrast for me.
The camera - Sony A7 + 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6
